Today there was a large gathering of people, united in their determination to keep San Francisco a Hate Free Zone.

Today from 1-5 in Precita park many people gathered to show their support for a hate free San Francisco. Many people also expressed a desire for a peaceful reaction to the attacks last Tuesday. I am not always the best estimater of crowd size, but would say that there were around 2000 - 3000 people there for most of the time. Michael Frante others provided great music. Medea Benjiman and others gave great speeches proving that not all Americans are thirsty for a bloody war.

Flyers were being passed around for upcoming events, including a meeting at the Women's Building on Thursday the 20th of Sept. I am sure that more details will be posted here.

I was uplifted to see so many people talking sense, and willing to come out and express their views in public. I hope that out of this and future events we can organise a movement that can one day stop the war.
