- Poor News Network: A multi-media access project of POOR Magazine, dedicated to reframing the news, issues and solutions from low and no income communities, as well as providing society with a perspective usually not heard or seen within the mainstream media.

- SF Bayview Newspaper: The leading national Black newspaper.

- Asian American Journalists: Their mission is three-fold: 1) To encourage Asian Pacific Americans to enter the ranks of journalism, 2) To work for fair and accurate coverage of Asian Pacific Americans, and 3) To increase the number of Asian Pacific American journalists and news managers in the industry.
- Bay Area Black Journalist Association: An organization of African-American media professionals and students representing radio, television, print, public relations, online journalism and advertising.
- Berkeley Community Media: Berkeley Public Access Television working to build an electronic free speech forum to encourage democratic involvement and build community.
- Bright Path Film & Video: A Bay Area activist organization searching for truth in its social, political and cosmic contexts through the lens of a video camera.
- Center for Integration and Improvement of Journalism (CIIJ) : An SF State University-based program that develops programs and conducts research aimed at recruiting, retaining and revitalizing journalists and journalism educators.
