Professor Francis A. Boyle calling for preventive impeachment of George W. Bush

by ziggy
58 minute radio show, mp3 for streaming or download

Impeachment due to lies pertaining to one's private member?  High crimes indeed!  Granted, Clinton was no angel and the Republicans attempted to take him out on the sex issue because Clinton was nearly as corrupt as the current Bush gang, and going after anything other than the petty sex issue would actually cut close to home.

Today, there's a growing number of people contemplating impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush and gang.

Professor Francis A Boyle worked with the late Congressman Henry Gonzalez to draft impeachment articles against George H. W. Bush.  Now, he's letting people in Congress know that he's willing to help any of them that will stand up and enforce the rule of law.  He makes the case that U.S. is violating international law, particularly the Bush doctrine of preemptive war, which in his words reads like a Nazi strategy document.  He also makes the case that the "Ashcroft police state" is also grounds for impeachment.

Professor Boyle believes there are large numbers of Congress members that are seriously disturbed about what Bush is intending to do in Iraq, and what is going on with the nascent police state.

He's proposing six articles of impeachment.  Listen to the radio show to learn more.

I assume that Professor Francis A Boyle has contacted former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark about impeachment a strategy to throw a monkey wrench into the rise of a police state and the war on Iraq. Boyle talks about Clark in the interview.

The groups organizing the massive January 18 national protest against the war should talk to Boyle, if they haven't already -- to get this impeachment idea at the forefront of the demonstrations. Boyle is on to something. This could be the single best chance to stop the war. Success will not be judged by actual impeachment, but by how the process helps restore some true democracy in our land (and it's beyond the Supreme Court ;-)

I copied the articles months ago off a posting on here and put them away - a hard copy - just to know they were there, something to get strength from.

But jesus, someone better get on with it before it's too late!

Maybe it was all those emails that did it . . .

Thanks for posting.

Impeach GW Bush????

How ridiculous can you get?? Bush is the most popular President in a long long time. Approval ratings remain over 60%. Reelection is expected to be by a landslide.

This bozo clown of a Professor is clearly a comedian trying to evoke laughter. Clown: a person who amuses others by ridiculous behavior [syn: buffoon, merry andrew] v : act as or like a clown [syn: clown around, antic]

Thanks BA. Glad you made it over here too. Sheepdog would have been disappointed if you stayed on LA Indymedia
by bov
Oh . . . so BA stands for Bozo Alert. I sort of wondered, because if it really was about his admiration for the pResident, it would have to be MA.

He's the type that thinks impeachments should be used to deal with stained dresses and cigar incidents.

Ahh ziggy, I’m disappointed every time I see this PRAD posting
its tired nonsense. I thought Bush Admirer & Simple Simon
had, you know; connected over at LA IMC and could stare into each others eyes over lunch.
You’re right.
Let’s impeach the moron, try him and his ilk for treason and murder then hang them together with their collaborators.
You know, all the PRADs. We’ll see if they think they were getting
paid enough as the hood go over their eyes.

Hiya Sheepdog,

I try to keep my comments to people like "BA" short and sweet. He's not here to learn, and most people will not be influenced by him in any way. He's just not worth my time, but I think quick rebuttal to his drivel from time to time is a good thing.

Boyle is on the payroll of Yassir Arafat - perhaps Arafat would prefer Cheney as president. Lots of luck.

PALESTINE, PALESTINIANS, AND INTERNATIONAL LAW

by Francis A. Boyle Forthcoming in 2003 Clarity Press (claritypress [at] usa.net)

Over the past two decades, no non-Palestinian has had as much direct and personal experience in the struggle for Palestinian self-determination,
human rights, and an independent state of their own as the author. Starting in 1987, he served as Legal Advisor to the Palestine Liberation Organization on the Palestinian Declaration of Independence of 15 November 1988 as well as on the ensuing Palestinian Peace Initiative. He then served as Lega Advisor to the Palestinian Delegation to the Middle East Peace Negotiations from 1991 to 1993. There, at the instructions of the Head of the Delegation, Dr. Haidar Abdul Shaffi, the author drafted the Palestinian Alternative to what later became the now defunct Oslo Agreement. In November of 2000, the author launched the Israeli Divestment/Disinvestment

Jimmy,

Those years also happen to be the same period when the first Bush Administration started to groom Yassir Arafat and the Palestinian Authority. Specifically, James Baker trained a dozen high ranking Palestinians in PR skills -- these were the so-called "Baker's Dozen." Following the Gulf War I, it was necessary to move along some form of peace negotiations. The Madrid Conference came first, and eventually Oslo. There were a whole host of right-wing Republicans working directly with Yassir Arafat.

Your message is typical of those that are ideologically motivated for the present. It lacks historical context. At best, you just over simply. Who cares if Boyle worked with Arafat? Lots of westerners did.

Spam and slam all you want. Most that her about Boyel's idea will just focus on the logic of Boyle's message at face value -- as it should be. By your logic, James Baker is a terrorist.

We will certainly spread the word.
I have once again faxed and called my congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (who has already voted no to war) and faxed the White House with the threat of impeachment.

We will be out on the streets tirelessly with signs to impeach, and will call upon our students to do the same.

R.I.S.E. added a web page about Boyle's radio interview after I wrote the above.  There's not much there at the moment, but perhaps it will be updated later.  You can visit that page by clicking here.

If anyone needs Professor Boyle's bio page, you can get it by clicking here.  The R.I.S.E. radio show is an internet-only show, and Kellia Ramares uploads the mp3 files to radio4all often (use the search engine there), and it's streamed elsewhere.  You can look at the R.I.S.E. website.  Ramares works with KPFA, but to the best of my knowledge R.I.S.E. is entirely her brainchild and 100% independent.

We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
