Survey: 34% of Americans say Jews have too much influence...

SAN FRANCISCO - A nationwide survey released Tuesday shows anti-Semitism is growing in the United States, according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.

The poll showed that nearly a third of all U.S. citizens fear a Jewish president may have divided loyalties when dealing with Israel, the report said.

The survey, conducted by the Institute for Jewish and Community Research in San Francisco, also found that nearly one in four Americans between the ages of 18 and 34 believe that Jewish control of the media distorts the news. Only 16 percent of older Americans held the same view.

The poll also found that that 34 percent of Americans agree that "Jews have too much influence on Wall Street," and 37 percent believe that the Jews were responsible for killing Jesus Christ.

The survey found higher anti-Semitism among Democrats than Republicans. Twenty percent of Democrats and Independents tend to "view Jews as caring only about themselves," compared to only 12 percent among Republicans.

Gary Tobin, the president of the Institute for Jewish and Community Research, said the results appear to reverse a post-Second World War and post-Holocaust trend of declining anti-Semitism in America.

Tobin said he expects the trend to continue due to the escalating Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the buildup toward a possible U.S. invasion of Iraq.

This is not news. So long as there is capitalism, anti-Semitism will continue to flourish. This writer has not experienced any decline in anti-Semitism and has lived over 50 years in this miserable, worthless, anti-Semitic society. As to a Jewish president, it is the politics that count. Joe Lieberman is just as much a fascist and warmonger as George Bush as both speak for the capitalist class. If the Democrats allow Lieberman to be their presidential candidate, it means they are no longer interested in promoting the insulting lie that they, a capitalist party, can somehow represent the workingclass. The good thing about Lieberman running for president is that it will finally mean the end of the stinking rotten Democratic Party. One capitalist party is more than enough. If people do not like the Republicans, they can either vote socialist or just vote on the propositions. No worker has any business voting for any capitalist candidate, which all Democrats and all Republicans are by definition, as that is called voting for your oppressor.
