PSA: Demonstrate on Feb 15
2:09 Quicktime / MPEG4 public service announcement from George Bush regarding the February 15 worldwide demonstrations.
The march footage here is from a demonstration in Cambridge UK, where about 1000 people demonstrated against the war yesterday (February 1st, 2003). See http://uk.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=52265&group=webcast for photos.
Demonstrators walked for about 2 km through the town of Cambridge, and participation was very diverse - while there was a strong showing from the usual anti-war constituencies (students, anarchists, pacificists, socialists, Greens, trade unionists, etc.) there was very strong participation from people who do not normally get involved in political action. After the march, speeches were delivered in the town square by speakers from the Cambridge Stop the War Coalition (StWC), Cambridge Students Against the War (CamSAW), CamPeace, the local Muslim community, and a student branch of Globalize Resistance.
