On August 10, marking the anniversaries of the horrific bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, citizens of Northern California will join together to demand global disarmament, starting at home. Livermore nuclear weapons lab is one of two design labs for nuclear weapons in the country. Scientists at Livermore Lab are working on designing a new nuclear weapon: the Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator. And now Livermore Lab wants to build a biowarfare agent facility to bring live anthrax , botulism and plague to the Bay Area. This family friendly event will feature music, speakers and art. At 3 PM we will begin a march around the Lab. There will be interfaith ceremonies held around the Lab after which participants will join hands together to encircle the weapons lab with prayers for peace.

Sponsors include: Tri-Valley CAREs, California Peace Action, National Veteran’s for Peace, Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Western States Legal Foundation, Livermore Conversion Project, Code Pink, United for Peace and Justice and many more
