Mobilize to SF! -- Biotech/G8 convergence on June 8th

RECLAIM YOUR DEMOCRACY
this is a call to take the next step
this is a call to create the next world
this is a call to action
this is a call to charms

on june 8th, the first day of the G8's behind-closed-door meetings, the biotech industry's largest meeting of lobbyists will be gathered along with their pharmaceutical conspirators in san francisco.

they will be met by a demonstration unlike any the world has ever seen.

the biotech industry, which is creating the groundwork for the next arms race (biological warfare), which threatens the sanctity of the global food supply, and which pours hundreds of thousands of dollars into the political system to make sure their agenda triumphs over grassroots democracy, is an emerging face for the agenda of global corporatization.

we aim to offer a new face for the agenda of global justice.

we call for actions to take place throughout that week in san francisco to disrupt the meetings and after-hour schmooze-fests that will be taking place, but we additionally call for solidarity actions around every aspect of the global capitalistic agenda that this meeting and the G8 ooze their way into -- from the war in iraq to the war in our back-yard, we call for a demonstration that our struggles are united.

we call for creative offerings of the alternatives in every one of the ways that we know are possible and several that we don't...

in sum, this is a call to begin visioning the next phase of our movement, the phase of building, growing, creating and manifesting solutions to the
ecological devastation and social injustice that is clearly articulated by
the biotech industry and the G8 at large. san francisco is the perfect place to being creating
the world we want. what will it look like?

Will Golden Gate Park become a food forest?
Will bicycle taxis shuttle people around car-free streets?
Will the streets burst with public art?
Will we dig up Market Street and plant a garden?
Will people from around the Bay begin using a local currency?
Will Bechtel be shut the fuck down?
Will victims of environmental racism, the economic draft and the war on the poor stand united and realize their power?
Will one thousand local struggles come together in solidarity to realize that their power is greater than that which opposes them?

...make your plans early. come out west and help make a bold, beautiful, delicious statement that we the people have finally arrived and we will not back down.

send an email to: sf.june8-subscribe [at] lists.riseup.net to get plugged in. start rounding up your affinity groups and building your own solidarity among each other through local actions so you can hit the ground running when you get here. if your community is doing related work leading up to this convergence or in the aftermath, let's work together to weave a continuous story from one to the next and link all the local struggles that add up to our movement.

Now is our chance to stun and silence all the corporate cogs with the brilliance of what we know can be.
