Freepers attack NYC indymedia

Protest Warriors delete NYC Indymedia articles and clog the site with repetitious spam.

Article after article is being removed by the nyc indymedia article rating of protest warriors and neocon Freepers. I like NYC Indy's rating system on the whole, but if you have a clique of freepers like this who don't believe in free speech either on their website or anyone elses, the system can be abused. You can still view some great articles/photos of the protests at this link:

One photog in particular (Edgar Mata) seems to be singled out. Here's his site in case the PWs succeed in deleting his articles: http://www.edgarmata.com

§WSQT radio piece being deleted too

The "New Hope" audio file we use as a leader to our RNC coverage has repeatedly been deleted on NYC Indymedia. Even the Hidden file does not show it, but shows a heavily-downrated negative comment. Following the "Parent article" lind gets a "unique Query not returned or " not authorized" type error.

"New Hope" is a .ogg file-maybe they have trouble with those? The piece is set to the haunting music of Rohan from Lord of the Rings and asks how Bush can be a security candidate if he cannot even protect his own convention from protestors. The heart of it is the message that the movement is back, that "New hope is born in the streets of New York City!"

It looks like nyc indy may have temporarily disabled the voting down of articles for the present. Some of the protest warriors with too much time on their hands were trying to vote down/spam every single RNC-related article on the site. I guess they'll have to find some other way to waste their time!

You can't delete our articles. I know, I know, it's so frustrating. And by the way.. how do you so-called "patriots" really feel about free speech anyway? Is there some reason you didn't sign up to fight in Iraq?
