Some photos from How Berkeley Can You Be?
Thousands of people lined Shattuck and University Avenues in Berkeley today to watch the annual How Berkeley Can You Be? Parade.
It rained just at the time the parade was set to start, but none of the floats or participants seemed to be negatively affected by the dampness. The parade seemed to go on forever, from Mayor Tom Bates to students riding electric vehicles they had made, to pro-medical marijuana activists to a group satirizing opposition to prostitution, from polyamory activists to naked street theater group The X-Plicit Players, from voter registration bus floats to a car with a woman beating up a person in a George W. Bush mask.
