One of our enemies has been spending hours and hours of his day making himself look extremely dishonest, mainly by committing serial forgery, with a smattering of slander thrown in for good measure.
Check it out:

Lately, he has been going around the network claiming to be me. I use a number of pseudonyms. In this http://vancouver.indymedia.org/news/2004/07/149427_comment.php#149551">day> and http://la.indymedia.org/news/2003/04/48331_comment.php#48341">age>, I’d be a http://sfbay.indymedia.org/news/hidden.php?id=1682637#1683134">fool> not to. They include, but are not limited to:
nessie
debate coach
just wondering
one of the editors
history buff
pointer
heard it before
bunk logic
etc., etc.
I only use pseudonyms I made up. Unlike this guy, I never, ever, use anybody else’s pseudonym. My pseudonyms are more catch phrases than actual names. The indicate the content of the subsequent comment. I only sign as “one of the editors” when I’m talking about editorial policy. I only sign as “debate coach” when I am commenting on the debate itself. I only sign and “just wondering” when I am asking a question.
And so forth.
I never, ever, use anybody else’s pseudonym. This guy, and perhaps some of his http://vancouver.indymedia.org/news/2004/04/123358_comment.php">friends>, have been going around signing my name(s) to things I didn’t post, in order to confuse you. Don’t fall for it.
These things happen. C'est la guerre. Some people apparently think I'm important enough to be worth smearing. As long as they think so, I am. They imitate my style. Occasionally, they imitate my content, but not often. Usually they change the meaning by altering a word or two. Either way, it’s bogus. If it doesn’t sound like something I would write, it wasn’t. Whatever else I may be, and opinions do vary, I’m consistent.
My signature can only be trusted here:
http://sf.indymedia.org
here:
http://www.transbay.net/~nessie/
and most of here:
http://www.sfbg.com/nessie/
except for this one:
http://www.sfbg.com/nessie/14.html
which my editor at the Bay Guardian wrote as an April Fool’s joke. I was not amused, but at least they were paying me to be not amused. This guy isn’t paying me. He’s not amusing, either, even when he http://vancouver.indymedia.org/news/2004/07/149202_comment.php#149633">tries> to be.
I’m not the only victim of his smear campaign. Other times, he claims to be Angie or Boswell, or whoever else he happens to be mad at that day. Don’t fall for any of it. He’s none of these people.
He’s a troll. We know him as http://www.sfimc.net/news/2004/07/1698659_comment.php#1699045">SmashTheLeft>.
This is his story.
