Al Qaeda's Shocktober Surprise

TIMING OF RELEASE OF BIN LADEN TAPE

We don't know exactly when Bin Laden made the "new" tape. It could have been made anytime during the Bush/Kerry race, which started in spring 2004.

However, we do know that some representatives or allies of Bin Laden had to transport the tape to the Arab media.

In doing so, these persons also had to decide exactly WHEN to release the tape. Today? Tomorrow? Before Nov. 2? Later?

And apparently those persons chose to release it just a few days BEFORE the U.S. election, as a "Shocktober Surprise" --
instead of, for example, just after the election,
as a "November Afterthought".

IF these persons have been reading U.S. polls carefully,
then they know that
each "security" scare helps Bush.

So their TIMING
helps Bush.

If they are clever, then the timing was a deliberate choice.
(Contrarily, if they're fools, the timing was random.)

Al Qaeda members are evil fanatics;
but do they lack tactical cleverness?

Therefor I think Al Qaeda intended to help Bush win.

Why help him? Surely they hate him.

Yes, they hate him, and the whole USA.
But maybe they'd rather have a clumsy fool running the USA,
than face a wiser opponent.

If you were playing poker for really high stakes.
such as life itself, or the future of civilization,
wouldn't you prefer to play against a fool?


"Four more years" of Bush therefor
will help Islamist fundi-fascists.

This, I suspect, explains the timing of the release of
Bin Ladin's Shocktober Surprise.
