Maxxam/Pacific Lumber's proposed Timber Harvest Plan is adjacent to Avenue of the Giants and reaches as high as 300 feet in a steep hill above Highway 101 (remember Confusion Hill?). Go here for a fly-over.

This tree stands on the edge of a previous clear-cut that isn't growing back. If this plan is cut, it will connect with the old clear-cut and spell disaster for Avenue of the Giants, the Eel River and highway 101.

The steep slope has already started to slide in some places. There are old-growth redwoods above and below this slump.

This tree was marked with blue in a previous Harvest PLan that didn't go through. It's also marked with yellow, and will be cut if the CA Dept. of Forestry gives their stamp of approval.
