Letter to Sac Antiwar Honchery re B Boxer

by C. Nial Citoyen (cuibono [at] rcip.com)
This is an email sent out Friday morning to a few prominent Sacramento "progressive" activists. Let's see what kind of a response it gets? And keep watching the Bee & other Democrat voices. How far will BB go with this? That is the question...
Today [i.e., Fri 01/21/05] the Sac Bee Editorial Bd chose to publish a really VICIOUS "hit-piece" attacking Sen Boxer for her sharp questioning of Condoleeza Rice. The Bee itself supplied a trashy "hit-caption" below tiny photos of Boxer & Kennedy.
(Sac Bee Fri 01/21/05, Metro pg. B-7, Column One below the fold; SacBee Online version saved, will fwd on request).

An over-the-top vicious attack like this says to me that Sen Boxer has done something really good, and really significant. Something "The Powers That Bee" appear to see as tantamount to class-treason. (If you happened to watch
the proceedings on C-Span you'd have a good idea why.)

Anytime anybody is attacked for doing something this positive, they deserve to be supported, regardless of differences in other areas. SO:
Let's visit Barbara Boxer's office & present a petition...

A) thanking her for the excellent job she did jacking up Condy;

B) asking her to call NOW for the withdrawal FORTHWITH of ALL US Troops, Advisors, "Contractors"/Mercenaries & other Agents from Iraq.

It may be possible to arrange a nice photo-op with her local rep (?) right there in the office or out on the patio. Whatever -- a press conf on the "patio" would certainly be in order.

Then follow that by marching to 7th & K to carry out a mass leafletting for an hour or so. Besides the Boxer petition/letter plus any statement she may issue, be sure to have plenty of CCCO-type & "Don't Be A Sucker" material to give out. That corner is loaded with Poverty-Draft Susceptibles.

Meanwhile, what is Doris Matsui's position on Iraq? on Palestine? Darfur?

(I don't know whether this falls within the FBC list guidelines, so I'm sending to Carl instead who hopefully will post it.)
