Americans protest the killing of Palestinians in Palestine and Israel by the Israeli military
300 protesters gathered in front of the Israeli Consulate today protesting the continued siege of Palestine by Israeli troops. The protesters pointed out that Americans should act on this violation of their rights by following these steps:
1. Join the protests in solidarity with the Palestinian people (next protest is Thursday at Sproul Plaza, UC Berkeley and Friday at 2:30pm @ Israeli Consulate at 456 Montgomery in San Francisco)
2. Contact your legislators demanding an end to US government financing of Isreals military and economic support apparatus.
3. Call on Jewish Americans to repudiate the Isreali state that is dedicated to legalized practices of racism.
About 20 fighters (fidayeen) took the street and burnt an Isreali flag stomping it into the pavement as it burned. They where called off the street by the older generation of Palestinians. It will be interesting to see how the older accomondationist will be able to control the younger fidayeen that have participated in the Intifada. Like Arafat they will face continued more radical approaches of the younger generation which bares resemblance to the anti-Globalization protests and the anarchist front.
