Wed. January 31, 12 noon Action to STOP THE UTILITY BAILOUT! At Gov. Davis' offices in SF and Sacramento.
Protest his betrayal of the public trust.

Action to STOP THE UTILITY BAILOUT!
When: Wednesday, January 31st, 12:00 noon (your lunch break!)
Where: Governor Davis' offices:
San Francisco - *455 GOLDEN GATE AVE.*
Sacramento - the *WEST WING* steps of the Capitol
What: Governor Davis is going back on his word to prevent rate increases. He's pushing a deal to bail out the utilities with a double whammy to the public: rate increases and taxpayer subsidies. We won't stand for this. The public needs to know that the lights will go on and rates will not go up.
Bring: signs - themes: "Read my lips: No new rate increases", "We'll remember in November 2002"

§Avoid the blackouts and rate hikes w/ wind

If any of you have friends with land out in the hills now is the perfect time for them to buy an electric wind turbine. Currently the state of California is reimbursing some residents by as much as 50% for buying and installing a wind turbine for electricity generation.
