A decent interview ... a van-load of folk turned back, excuses like 15-year old trespassing charges.
But ... lockdown? what lockdown? I never heard anything about any sort of lockdown.
First of all, any person (who is not a Canadian citizen) with a criminal record is not allowed entry into Canada. The USA also has similar policies of not allowing persons (who are not U S citizens)entry into the USA who have criminal records.

Second, I've not only had my vehicle searched by US authorities before gaining entry into the US but my seats taken out as well; they were apparently looking for illegal contra-bann such as Cuban cigars. Both the US and Canadian border gaurds have complete authority to search what ever vehicle they deem fit in order to protect there own citizens.

If the activists had planned to peacefuly protest the FTAA I'm sure they would have been allowed to enter Canada. Since the Canadian Border Gaurds found evidence contrary to a peacefull protest they were simply not allowed entry.

Canada is a beautifull country as is the USA. The interviewers comment of Canada "needing people" was un- called for as it is aparent that he has never visited Canada.

Don't drive to Canada--you can be refused entry. Take the train from New York to Montreal, it's fast, easy and beautiful. No problem.

just a response to cjay up there.
you have some real illusions as to what canada really is. i was stopped and detained driving to quebec. i am a canadian citizen, and i was coming from toronto.....hmmmmm......also, the canadian picture of polite 'we dont have those problems here' goes away real fast when the police gas you for sitting in the street giving them the peace sign..... hmmmmmm....maybe go look at canada before you defend it....you make me sick

why were you sitting "in" the street and what is gas.....hmmmmm....the trip you took ...tell me did you leave the house?
