You see, the difference between the Afghan babies picture above is that they were NOT TARGETS. They were the horrible and unfortunate victims of WAR. You need to distiguish between victims of war, and targets. The Taliban and Al Queda have publicly announced their goal to kill Americans and any infidels, men, women and children.
HERE ARE THE REAL VICTIMS who were targetted by Al Queda:

Unlike your assertion. this is not "speculation" on who the targets may or may not be. This is fact. They are not in refugee camps living off of US provided Aid. They are, in fact, dead.
Only those who believe the Taliban propaganda actually think we're targetting children. Contrary to radical belief, Americans know that we are doing all that is humanly possible to avoid civilian casualties-. But yes, Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore, and very bad stuff happens in war!
If we Americans had our way, they would receive our aid, food and shelter. Unfortunately the oppressive Taliban makes this difficult, and we need to finish killing the oppressors and the immediate threat they pose to our Nation before feeding their children re-emerges as our #1 priority. Don't worry, it will become our priority due time, even though you doubt it.
You can't handle the truth!
ryan, your analysis is about an inch deep. take your u.s. government propaganda and shove it.
What about the El Queda statements and their actions don't you understand? Are they lying? Are we lying when we provide 320 million in aid to Afghanistan? Are we lying when we say we deplore the loss of innocent civilians? No-- because we mean it, just like you do.
If the US were out to kill children...you'd see a lot more pictures of dead bodies. What would we have to gain from that, and how would we get the vast majority of reasonable Americans to go along with that plan? Do tell!
(And please don't respond with analogies or references to other conflicts or sanctions...it confuses your already messed up logic.)
As far as the FACTS go, I do know several people in the armed forces. I also know a few airline pilots. I also know just a few people in goverment. I've got a friend in the Peace Corps in Central Asia. I also read international news and radio reports from around the world....My information is probably much more balanced that yours. Obviously.

While it may be unfortunate that a small handful of Afganis will be killed by allied bombing, it is an extremely small amount compared to the hundreds of thousands slain by the Taliban.
