(TAPP?).. prisoners beaten on a daily basis.. <A HREF=\"\">hunger strike.. \'death fast\'.. four have died.. Dennis: in 1990 you got 3 months in prison for showing a slideshow and reading poetry..Mr Gerr: slideshow about political history in Turkey.. taken to Ankara main headquarters.. my friends were beaten, I was not.. Dennis: Is Turkey a democracy? Can you read poetry in public? Mr Gerr: the contribution of the people into the system.. yes there is parliment.. then there is 7-8 men, 5 of them generals.. one president, one prime minister.. exactly one year ago, the hunger strike started in prison.. because of the <A HREF=\"http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/europe/newsid_1318000/1318076.stm\">isolation cells.. this is offensive, a human rights violation.. 850 initially took part.. 35 day, 7 different teams, approximately 50 in a teams joined.. 6 burnt alive.. Mr Gerr: people are in total isolation, denied to see attorney, family, each other.. subject to torture, especially in the first 3 months.. this is what\'s happening.. 73 died so far either through killings, or starved..
