Open Letter to Mobilization for Global Justic
Open letter addressing the apparent blackout concerning the rescheduled meetings of the IMF/World Bank in Ottawa, November 17-18, by the previous major organizers of the demonstrations planned for September in Washington, D.C.--50 Years is Enough! and Mobilization for Global Justice.

Subject: IMF/WB in Ottawa
Post IMMEDIATELY the update about the re-scheduling of the IMF/WB meeting
to Ottawa Nov 17-18 in a prominent location on your website. If you don't,
you are betraying the anti-globalization movement and all who continue to
suffer, throughout the world, as a direct result of the policies of these
institutions. It is clear that trade liberalization has now become
assimilated into the rhetoric of "war on terrorism," and a retreat from
dissent is simply a surrender to the corruption we have been battling all
these years. I personally feel that the self-organization of autonomous
affinity groups bears more weight in this movement than "big name"
organizations like yourself, and I couldn't care less if you organize a
"march," but you have an obligation to use your prominence for the free
spread of information, rather than its concealment.
You can find information about the rescheduled meeting on the websites of
the IMF and World Bank.

This demand will be posted on all Indymedia websites, and activists WILL
hold you accountable for your negligence on this matter if you continue
to remain silent about a major global event that is less than a month away.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Activist

The events are in CANADA *therefore* the DC folks haven't noticed. Just because GW doesn't know the PM's name, doesn't mean DC NGOs care. They're INSIDE the beltway, man, don't expect them to see beyond MD.
Tell me. Did you post your little letter to these sites?
