Uzbek Press Conference Fiasco
Like a scene from the Outer Limits, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, fled an Uzbek Press Conference when it became apparent that it was his worst nightmare come true during a LIVE global televised fiasco.

Uzbekistan 11/04/01 12:55 a.m./West Coast Time Ca./-In a venomous display of world wide disrespect, U.S. Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, embarrassed the United States pubicly during a global televised Press Conference in Uzbekistan when he responded to reporters questions with contempt, anger, and a lack of control over his emotions. In a fit of rage over a series of questions posed to him regarding U.S. Deployed Troop Movements out of Uzbekistan into Afghanistan, Rumsfeld quickly lost patience with the press,
and got downright nasty after realizing that stonewalling the media did not abate the direction the questions tended to be flowing.
The Press Conference itself a fiasco for Rumsfeld because he could not hear the translators during the begining of the question and answer period, turned into
a quagmire of sensitive questions the Secretary of Defense refused to answer.
When the stonewalling tactics of Rumsfeld failed to back off the inquisitive
reporters, the Secretary of Defense suddenly shouted that over 5 thousand Americans were dead from the terrorist attack in New York, and that the U.S. needed the use of other countries in the world to launch their attacks from to go after the terrorists. Rumsfeld then quickly stormed away from the podium,
as the reporters stood there looking at one another, with some shaking their heads in disbelief as others held their hands up wondering what that was all about.
The Uzbek Press Conference turned out to be one of those remarkably, un-remarkable press conferences that will be buried under the glare of the
present day corporate propaganda machine which tends to quickly divert the audience into a different direction when the shit hits the fan.

Probably won't matter though - Rumsfeld's behavior and churlish lack of control so closely resemble our foreign policy that no one in power will see anything amiss.
