Noelle Hanrahan: about Egypt's Professor Nawal El Saadawi, an Egyptian physician, author, feminist and activist, who was imprisoned by Anwar Sadat due to her organizing efforts on behalf of Egyptian women.. Ms. Saadawi: about the rise of fundamentalism.. about the rise of Osama bin Laden.. about globalization and the new global trafficing in women's bodies.. women shipped from Eqypt to Israel, to Saudi Arabia, to Pakistan, to Phillipines, all over the world.. but when they talk about the evils of globalization they forget about the women.. Ms. Saadawi: whenever you have a crisis, a war.. women suffer worst.. in war, women are the first to die.. it is the women and children who are vulnerable.. now the U.S. want to interfere, to appoint the government of Afghanistan.. the women of Afghanistan say: We don't want Osama, we don't want the Northern Alliance, just leave us alone.. LET US CHOOSE OUR OWN GOVERNMENT.. another Gulf War for the oil.. a plan to control the Caspian Sea region.. I came to the U.S. a few days before Sept 11.. I see people here are uninformed.. Americans do not know why women in Africa and Asia are unhappy with the U.S government... THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD ARE NOT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THEY ARE AGAINST U.S. GOVERNMENT POLICY...
