Santa Cruz, CA -- The Student Environmental Center (SEC) at UCSC will host the first annual Campus Earth Festival to build a more inclusive and engaging environmental community at UCSC, gather support for a more sustainable campus, and provide an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the greater Santa Cruz community to come together and celebrate our unique environment and diverse community. There will be a variety of student organizations and local environmental organizations
tabling at the festival. Food and drinks will be available from student organizations and the Convergence Foods.

The Campus Earth Festival will feature the live music of the Santa Cruz bluegrass band Strung Over, San Jose’s Chicano groove band Grito Serpentino,
and Los Angeles’s jazz heavy hip-hop trio La Paz. Inspiring and motivating guest speakers will complement this eclectic arrangement of music. Speakers include UCSC alumni and co-founder of Global Exchange, Kevin Danaher, Speaker pro Tem of the State Assembly, Fred Keeley, and Greenpeace’s
Clean Energy Now Coordinator, Kristin Casper.
