Fuck -God and the Pledge of Allegiance

by Dennis Bejin (dennis_bejin [at] yahoo.com)
If you’re a born again Christian these two words "Fuck - God" can bring up a variety of thoughts and feelings. That’s because in our culture "fucking" and "god" don’t go together. It’s because of this dichotomy between god and pleasure that I’d like to see our nation step out from under him in the Pledge of Allegiance.

If you’re a born again Christian these two words "Fuck - God" can bring up a variety of thoughts and feelings. That’s because in our culture "fucking" and "god" don’t go together. It’s because of this dichotomy between god and pleasure that I’d like to see our nation step out from under him in the Pledge of Allegiance

As most people know by now, the words "under God," were added to the Pledge of Allegiance by Congress in 1954. "Congress added "under God" during the Cold War after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus who wanted to distinguish the nation from what they regarded as godless communism."

My conflict with god began as a child when I discovered that masturbation was fun but punishable by everlasting damnation. The Catholic Church is not a friend to a growing boy. My animosity towards god grew stronger as I entered the teenage years and discovered that boys were more appealing than girls. The other kids said, "God hates fags."

I still remember my mother saying, "Keep away from that Sammy M...He’s a homosexual." I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I was the one inviting him up to my room.

"The Pleasure Principle, Sex, Backlash, and the Struggle for Gay Freedom," by Michael Bronski is a great book for people who want to understand why I think I’d be happier if we left god alone for awhile.

Bronski’s zooms on "god" and the limited perimeters this deity has set for enjoying our brief stay on earth in a ZNet Commentary, July 1, 1999, "The Crime That Dare Not Speak Its Name." He says:

http://www.zmag.org/sustainers/content/1999-07/01bronski.htm

"Sodomy" is commonly understood to mean anal intercourse, although the word has a complicated history. Coming from a misreading of the biblical story of Lot and Sodom (which is now generally believed to be about inhospitality not homosexuality) "sodomy" began as a theological term in the early eleventh century that described many non-reproductive sexual activities including masturbation.(Mark D. Jordan's The Invention of Sodomy gives a complete, readable history of this.) In early Christian attempts to establish reproduction as the "only" justification for intercourse it evolved from a smallish, general sin to an enormous, deadly and pernicious one. It was in this form that it was codified into early legal codes, usually carrying the death penalty. Today nearly half of the states still have some form of sodomy law on the books and the crime is defined as loosely as "the crime against nature" to explicitly defining it as various contact between genitals, anus, and mouth. A third of them are specifically aimed only at homosexuals, others stipulate heterosexual contact as well although it is almost never used against straight people. While "sodomy" is a theological and legal term, culturally it's normative usage overwhelming denotes male homosexuality."

God’s not much nicer to boy-lovers as mIke Echols an alleged child-advocate states on his web site Better A Millstone:

http://www.shadow-net.com/

Jesus said: "As for the man who is a cause of stumbling to one of these little ones who have faith, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone round his neck." Mark9:42, The New English Bible

I’m not surprised that George Bush is outraged by the courts ruling that the term "under God" should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. In the article, "Religious Right Finds Its Center in Oval Office," published in the December 24, 2001 issue of the Washington Post, and written by Dana Milbank, it becomes clear that President Bush is now the official leader of the religious right.

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines01/1224-02.htm

Ms. Milbank states the following:

"Pat Robertson's resignation this month as president of the Christian Coalition confirmed the ascendance of a new leader of the religious right in America: George W. Bush."

It’s easy to see how our Presidents vision of god is being reflected in national policy. Consider Bush and his obsession with "good and evil." Consider his focus on sex education which can be summed up in one word. "abstinence." Or consider the recent Supreme Court ruling on School vouchers which has been denounced by some as "the worst church-state ruling in 50 years."

I hate to say it, but the god this nation "stands under" just isn’t a very nice guy. He thinks kids are bad for liking their bodies, and thinks he knows what’s best for everybody else. He sounds like a dictator to me, but than again who am I to judge? So does George Bush.

"It is screwed up" as me and my "parents" say. You can't force a person to be in the presents of a person saying stuff about church, god or some other crap. There is no need for legal council on this matter just cut that part out and most will be fine. But the Christain's who want a country of one religon want this to stay as Georgy said "ridiculous" but who cares what our precious friend George W. Bush says most want him to mind his "business?"

"Under God" is an understatement but what has God done for us? has he saved us from falling 400 ft. onto jagged rocks? Or has he made your lover go gay? whatever he has done he should leave without sayin' goodbye. God is the most overrated word in the U.S like "Oh my God" to "Help me God" it means nothing...

Also children like most I know make up wacky versions of the pledge that are way more fun and have more meaning.

Good-Bye and please eat rotten eggs and tell me if god exists.

Hello Folks,

This is Dennis Bejin - your degenerate saint. I came into this world under strange circumstances. My first thoughts are of my laying in the middle of large circle surrounded by uncut corn stalks. Strange gangly creators kept approaching me with jars of Gerber baby food.

"EAT EARTH BABY," THEY WOULD CONJOLE AS THEY PUSHED BABY FOOD INTO MY MOUTH. Little did they know my bowls were ready to burst in response from the last forced feeding,.

I gagged down a mouthful of spinach, and let go with a blissful sigh. Obviously, they had noses ,since my infantile shit factory had produced a ripe product, ready for transport from my diapers. Yet, in stead of being repulsed by the brown pile of residue they seemed to hold it in high reverence. Every Sunday it was served with a small white waifer and the words, "Body of Dennis"

As the years passed I was brought up by the aliens on a steady diet of Pee Wee 's Playhouse and the 700 Club. This prepared me to become a hair stylist and political columnist. Boys were often abducted and brought aboard our space ship for rectal examines. I was assigned as the chief proctologist.

The boys would wake up with the happiest expressions on their face. I’d simply say it was just a glimpse of heaven. Many of our abdicates later converted to homosexuality. Taking it up joyfully the butt seemed far more inviting than a life of long suffering and agony of the cross. All because they didn’t live up to the God expectation of a graduate degree in law.

Yes it is the real me. Bow down and pay homage. I for ,however, one would stay away from the communion wafers unless of course you want to know me in a more intimate sense and pl;ease use mouth wash.

Peace be with with you!
And God Bless the Childen,

Dennis Bejin

>>>Coming from a misreading of the biblical story of Lot and Sodom (which is now generally believed to be about inhospitality not homosexuality) "sodomy", etc.

There is no misreading. The passage is found in Gen. 19:5, and is in reference to the men of the city wanting to "know" the two men they had seen entering Lot's home. The "know" here was the sin of homosexuality.

"The "know" here was the sin of homosexuality."

Wow, the Bible seems kinda shallow if its saying the only way you can "know" someone is to sleep with them.

Keep in mind that this was translated from Hebrew and was written several thousand years ago. Words change meaning over time, or there is other termanology that was used then as opposed to now. A fine example would be the word "begat". So and so "begat" so and so. We don't talk that way today, so it seems strange to us. To those who would have read these words in the day they they were written, the meaning would have been very clear. But, by reading the passages in context, we are able to determine the meaning. I would suggest that your read Gen 19:1-28 to gain the full context of what took place.

Because there are LOTS o'different versions of the bible....

Good question. Through my own personal study, I have found the King James Version and the American Standard Version to be two of the most accurate translations made from the manuscripts. The updated versions of these (New King James & New American Standard) are, in my opinion, also quite accurate.

I always recommend that individuals do their own research regarding any matter. You must be convinced that what you are reading is an accurate reflection of of the manuscripts through your own research.
