i am writing in support of Ritt Goldstein. In 1996 I was a member of his panel seeking police oversight in the state of Connecticut. Earlier that year I had won a Federal Verdict against members of the Fairfield Police Department who broke into my home next door to General Electric's Jack Welch, that literally shares the hedge with Welch. I walked into my home after taking my little one to kindergarden, was jumped, beaten and falsely arrested on the bogus charge of criminal trespass at my own home. I was warned not to file a Federal Suit against these officers, all of whom had histories of similar violent abuse. One attacked my son in front of me, then attacked me in front of my son, the lesson being break the son in front of the mother, break the mother in front of the son.

We were harassed and threatened for years, even when we fled the state pending Federal trial of our abusers and moved 3,000 miles west to Washington, we received continuoius threats by mail and phone, were followed and our phone tapped. I am learning that this is more and more prevalent in these United States. Every time I came to Connecticut during the years prior to this case being heard in Federal Court, I was threatened, beaten and falsely arrested. Perhaps, most painful was the campaign of slander and libel conducted against me and my sons, having to listen as I saw nude photos of another woman with blonde hair passed around in local bars and restaurants, hearing these being attributed to me, hearing people tell me over the phone, not knowing that they were talking to me that I was crazy and "in a loony bin somewhere out west." When I confronted these libelers to their face, told them who I was they told me I was not me and insisted they had their information from reliable sources, the same cops who were abusing us. One man told me to my face I could not be me because the woman in his dirty pictures was blonde and much bigger than me. I am a brunette and slight.

The year I filed suit against the Fairfield Police I was falsely arrested again, jumped and assaulted by two officers, Houle and Habetz. Houle the older ordered Habetz a rookie around, told him to break into the car. They stole my wallet with license and warned me they would arrest me if I drove the car without a license. Houle drove me cuffed in the backseat to a private road where he threatened to assault me further in ways women are assaulted. He rolled up the windows tight on this hot humid Connecticut summer night and left me locked and cuffed stifling in the heat for hours. When he returned he said he had a lawyer writing up a false police report and they were going to put me away for good this time. Indeed there was such a lawyer, Susan Moch. She bragged publicly and openly about filing this false police report.

The police refused to release a copy of this false report. I was lucky, a sympathetic lawyer came forward and advised me to request in writing a copy of the tape of her false report. Though the police refused to produce this report, I was able to draw attention to her crime, (Fairfield, CT's department eventually would sanctioned for its history of refusing to comply with release of reports).

I filed a Freedom of Information Suit and was finally able to get a copy of the false reports filed by the police, and those like Moch colluding with them and others seeking to protect the police and ruin me before trial to a jury. I have in writing her request for immunity and prosecution for filing these false reports. My own attorneys compromised me by workign in secret without my consultation, they granted her this immunity and did so at the request of Moch's friend a prosecutor who has told me she is out to get me for filing against the police.

I have been falsely arrested three times, accused of ridiculously things even while being 3,000 miles northwest in Washington State. When asked on a CNN show what happened to the police officers who were convicted for the abuse of me and my sons, I told the host... "They were promoted, one from Sgt. to Captain, another from officer to Sgt., Houle has retired, Habetz has left the force, the others are still on the force. Believe Ritt, for he is telling you the truth. When he says he was abused, followed, stalked, he was,for we are now and continue to. One day I looked up from the sink while doing the dishes and there were two officers in plainsclothes making faces at me and my little son. They followed us from room to room, looking in from outside making lewd tongue gestures, calling me names, banging the windows of our house. I scooped my little one up and ran upstairs, locked ourselves in my bedroom suite. They have rammed us in cars, bumper to bumper, chased us up and down roads.... ram us as we walk on public roads threatening me now to put me away this time for good and what they are going to do to me some night when they get me alone .... and what they willl do to me in front of my sons to teach them a lesson.

After winning the Federal suit against them there was some respite, but now they are up to same and the threats are more serious for having won that suit. Their purpose is to murder me first by slander and libel and have me incarcerated on new false charges.

In January 2003 my son opened the mail, an envelope with return address of Fairfield Police. He was heartstunned... this time they have filed false charges of Forgery on me and tell me there is warrant out for my arrest, bond demand of $5,000. I have been impoverished and live in temporary offered housing as result of the fraud and crimes against me and my sons, my signature was forged to millions of dollars of bank loans, IRS statements, credit cards etc. I cannot pay the bond and will be jailed for being poor, impoverished by them. I have uncovered others who have been similarly set up, formerly wealthy women, impoverished in the same way, made homeless like us.

The man who filed the false police report openly brags about doing so and has admitted he fabricated this false police report at the request of another. He has admitted this to a retired judge whose affidavit attesting to his admission is available. Despite admitting this he and his friends in the Fairfield Police department will not relese to me or to any attorney a copy of the full report and insist that no one will defend me in this and that I will be put away because they have the prosecutor in their pocket, the same prosecutor who is friend to Moch who was given immunity from prosecution for filing other false police reports resulting in prior false arrests and beatings of me.

I am a refugee with my sons in this country, seeking protection from corrupt local authorities. Indeed no one stands up for those falsely accused by the police and their cronies. One soon realizes that cops are related to the lawyers who file false police reports who in turn are related to prosecutors and judges. Bridgeport, CT, the site of the courthouses is known as "one of the most corrupt cities in the USA" . The mayor in on trial in Federal Court for graft and greed, using strong arm tactics to elicit bribes in the millions of dollars, while the Mayor of neighboring city, Phillip Giordano is on trial in Federal Court simultaneously for using his office in town hall for sexual liasions with little girls aged 9 and 11, procured for him under threat of jail by a local woman. Paul Harvey a conservative radio spokesperson, recently said on national radio: Connecticut the wealthiest state is most corrupt."

My point in writing is this.... that those of us who seek legal remedy or come forward speaking the truth about horrific abuse by individual police officers in this country are targetted in ways Ritt has experienced, in ways that are not always proveable, that leave no evidence, that are done in stealth, as in the officers who smeared themselves against my windows and followed me from room to room, who broke in at night, who broke in during the day, who could not be seen from the road as we lived on a private road surrounded by hedges. I was lucky to win that Federal Case that they were so bold as to brutalize me and my sons in public thinking no one would stand up for us. I was lucky that a highly respected member of the local government testified for us. I was lucky that we had the presence of mind to take photos, to complete affidavits. But now as a result of standing up and winning, we are subject to more serious threats. The warrant out those based on false and fabricated accusations and the person signing the false report has admitted this to a retired judge, he has not the resolve or fortitude to stand up to the false accuser or the police and I have no means to hire an attorney. There is no legal aid whatsoever to those us falsely accused of criminal crimes, only public defenders who are paid by the state that appoints corrupt judges whose sons are cops. I am seeking legal counsel with the stamina and integrity , with experience and legal stature to stand up for us. I should tell you that I am a writer. Our police abusers are determined to silence me by incarcerating me on false charges so you won't believe me either, so you will think less of the Federal Verdicts I have won.
