A Vigil for Rachel Corrie Will Be Held in San Francisco Today

by If Americans Knew
Yesterday an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer ran over and killed peace activist Rachel Corrie in Gaza. At the time Corrie – in the non-violent spirit of Martin Luther King and Gandhi – was using peaceful means to try to prevent the bulldozer from demolishing a Palestinian physician's home.

When: Monday, March 17 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm

For Press
The vigil has been organized in less than 24 hours but a diverse spontaneous turnout is expected.

A number of spokespeople will be available to comment. Rachel Corrie could teach the Palastinians a thing about true martyrdom. I don't agree with her position on the the Isreal/Palastinian conflict, but I have tremendous respect for her. She stood for her principles, and she did not kill anybody in the process. True martyrdom....

RIP Rachel.....
