Who Determines What's on Central Valley Center Page? The Criteria?
What determines what stories are placed on the center page of Central Valley?
I'm wondering why relatively few Sacramento-based articles or action alerts are placed on the center page of the Central Valley webpage. Virtually all of the new articles are from Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley. Are photos required for placement on this page? What is the criteria? Can anybody from IndyMedia answer my question? Is Sacramento not considered in the Central Valley?

It really helps to have a photo or some form of art (drawing, etc.) for a center page story. Look at any imc site almost all of the center page stories have photos. On todays indybay site there are 12 stories only 1 does not have a pic. or art.
Also of the 15 articles posted to the central valley local news section right now; 9 are from Fresno, 3 from Sacramento, 1 from Modesto, 1 from Sonoma and 1 is about world news.
Start posting stories. Go to the hearing about the sports arena take some photos write a story and it can go on the center page.
I hope this helps.

When we first met in Sacramento as a group of people all over the central valley, we talked basically about setting up a network of various town based collectives, that could have one person post up their stories to the main wire of the site. While alot of people showed up to the meeting, it turned out that few people seemed interested in really partaking in such a project.
So now we have Mike from Fresno, and myself from Modesto editing this page. We are looking for more people, and if you are interested in becoming and editor, simply join the list serve, see what is needed as far as going to a simple meeting and getting trained etc.
