The Radical Faeries are hosting an urban Faerie gathering in the heart of the 2004 SF LGBT Pride celebration.

This commercial-free chill-out zone will include DJs, performance, dancing, art, ritual, and transfiguration.

It will also be an oasis for folks to relax and connect in the special, creative, loving & playful ways of Faeries.

The Faerie Freedom Village can be found under the trees [ near fountain, inside United Nations Plaza]
between Hyde and Leavenworth, south of Mc Allister,
north of the Civic Center BART/MUNI United Nations Plaza exit.

All are welcome
and encouraged to bring things to share:
food, drink, art, drag, and an open heart and mind.

NIGHT MARSH contains full nudity.

Kupers directs a cast of 15 dancers, diverse in size, shape,
color, age, orientation and physical ability,
in an intricately choreographed journey through a world of naked bodies.

Beginning with an investigation of our culture's attitudes towards body diversity and nudity,
the piece then looks deeper at fears of the body as it is,
and their relationship to fears of death and dying.

NIGHT MARSH is performed completely naked, using nudity as a
tool for uncovering the often forgotten place of humans in the
wide spectrum of animals and the natural world.

wind thru Mission District, eventually get to Castro & Market; then dance thru the evening....

Female persons (past, present, or future) can demonstrate in DM for equal marriage rights, peace, etc.

Men (except transmen) should just watch and applaud the Dyke March.

But all genders can party afterwards, at CLOTHING-OPTIONAL Pink Saturday, outdoors on Castro Street.

If you want to march with a particular contingent, see sfPride.org
to find out the NUMBER of the contingent
(#1, always at the head of the parade, will be the famous "dykes on bikes").
Then go early to the parade's staging areas, downtown near the waterfront.
Signs will tell you, at least approximately, which groups of numbered contingents
(like, 180-200 ) should gather on which blocks.
Contingents start moving, at various staggered times from 0830 to 11AM, from Market & Beale, way downtown near the waterfront; and goes to the Civic Center area.
If you merely want to watch from a sidewalk, crowds are sparser where the parade begins,
thickest where it ends.

[ SUN might march (nude?), if we can find a group which will tolerate our presence.
Tortuga and "Naked Marvin" Gordon will be looking for such a group on Sunday morning, downtown.
Alas, there's no anti-war contingent in 2004, apparently. And the Radical Faeries apparently didn't bother to register as a contingent, this year.]

Republicans stage debate on same-sex marriage in U.S. Senate, starting July 12. Democratic national convention happens at Boston, late July. After the Dem-Con, TV viewers will turn to the Athens Olympics; and many will disengage from national life, for summer activities and travel, until Labor Day. In early September, seeking to profit from the 9-11 anniversary, Republicans will gather in New York City to coronate King George the Lesser; and to find out whether Cheney will continue as Veep candidate (a decision which is really up to Cheney, not Bush).

You're invited to bodypaint and get bodypainted, for freedom, equal rights, and peace on Nude Freedom Day, July 4, at Baker Beach, San Francisco. Free. Adults of all genders and orientations are welcome.
Directions: Take #29 Muni bus to Baker Beach (either of two stops; ask driver); or bike there; or walk from Geary Blvd. and 25th Ave. Walk to northern parking lot, which has water fountain & toilets. From parking lot, walk north on beach (toward Golden Gate Bridge), thru prude zone and into nude zone. Then visually follow the cable fence (separating usable beach from protected vegetation) until you see a Leather Pride Flag (bearing a red heart, with stripes of black, blue, and white). If you don't see the flag yet, just enjoy the beach on your own. Look again for flag, or bodypainters, each hour or two, especially near the log stairway.
