A delegation delivered a letter to Senator Barbara Boxer on June 9th demanding that she begin the process of introducing personal legislation on the behalf of the Cuevas family by June 15, 2004. http://www.indybay.org/news/2004/06/1685230.php

This rally was prompted by Barbara Boxer's total disregard for the Cuevas family's plight. As of the rally on June 16th, her office had still not communicated with the Support Committee for the Cuevas Family, nor had they responded in any way to thousands of signatures sent to her office along with the letter mentioned above that was signed by over 70 organizations. Her offices response to the Support Committee on June 16th, after we decided to take a delegation into her office, was a threat to call the Federal Police to arrest us for being in her office.

Video and audio of this will be posted soon.

In the Picture above is Robyn Rodriguez who is a member of the Support Committee for the Cuevas Family and FOCUS.

After singing a beautiful song about saving the Cuevas family from deportation, and calling for Barbara Boxer to take a stand. The delegation was greeted by Barbara Boxer's constituent representative, Eric Viscaino, who told us that we were on federal property and threatened to call the Federal Police to have us arrested if we did not leave. This was the only response that the Support Committee for the Cuevas Family has receieved from Barbara Boxer's office thus far, and alludes to some deeper problems in how Barbara Boxer has related traditionally to immigrant communities.
