The Society of California Pioneers presents
First Thursday Lecture Series
On Thursday, August 5th, Meredith Eliassen will excite the bohemian spirit in all of us with "The Story in the Quilt." Inspired by an historic crazy quilt made by Helen Penniman Pardee (1857-1947), that celebrated Mrs. Pardee's adventures with the Merry Tramps of Oakland during the early 1880s. Ms. Eliassen will recount adventures and romances behind this group's annual hiking sojourns to California's most beautiful and wild landscapes.
The lecture will place at The Society of California Pioneers, in San Francisco and will begin with a reception at 5:30 with the lecture from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $5. On the day of the lecture, the museum will stay open until 6 p.m.
Lecture Dates: August 5, September 2, 2004
Lecture Time: 6 - 7 pm
Lecture admission $5 General, $3 Members, Seniors, and Students.
Museum Hours: Weds – Friday and the first Saturday of each month, 10am– 4pm
General Admission $3; Students & Seniors $1
