Showdown with Sinclair. Friday, October 15, High Noon. STOPSinclair.org will deliver
tens of thousands of citizen signatures to Sinclair's Hunt Valley, Maryland
corporate headquarters.

STOPSinclair.org, sponsor of the largest online effort to stop Sinclair Broadcast
Group from forcing its stations to air Stolen Honor, an anti-Kerry "documentary,"
will deliver its STOP Sinclair petition to the broadcasting company's corporate
headquarters on Friday, October 15, at Noon.

Grassroots organizers and activists will come together at Sinclair's Maryland home
base to present more than 65,000 signatures that have been gathered from citizens
nationwide in just a few days, including from thousands of citizens in Sinclair's
viewing areas who have reacted furiously to the company's decision to preempt
regular network programming in favor of the anti-Kerry film.

News media first reported on October 9 that Sinclair had ordered its 62 local
television stations to air Stolen Honor shortly before election day. Many of those
stations are in key swing states. Newspapers around the country have responded with
editorials and columns denouncing Sinclair this week; House and Senate Democrats
have asked the FCC to investigate; and FCC Commissioner Michael Copps has publicly
criticized Sinclair's move as an abuse of the public trust and as an example of
media conglomeration run amok.

Notwithstanding this extraordinary popular and official outcry, the Republican-led
FCC indicated today that it will do nothing. The market has reacted, however, as key
Sinclair advertiser Sylvan Learning Center has already pulled its ads from the
broadcasting group's stations.
