These goons are marching around with assault rifles, gas masks and heavy protective gear like football players, smiling at passengers in their obvious promotional of their evil, under the guise of stopping the unknown. No evidence of any problem is given; we are supposed to assume they are right. Of course, they are wrong and we should always assume they are wrong because they have the motive, means and opportunity to do evil.
They are stealing our tax dollars to promote their jobs, prisons and concentration camps. Once they create an incident, as only they can, they can declare a state of emergency, take anyone from the train, and ship them to a concentration camp anywhere in the world as the US is already doing, either on land or on an American navy ship, with no trace of the person's disappearance. This is how fascists get rid of political opponents.
To those of you who doubt this analysis, how many Nazi Germanies do you need to learn the basic lessons?

How can the masses be so ignorant when history has been in our faces, via television, for 50 years? How can y'all avoid the truth about the police state we're living in when Indymedia and other independent sources have exposed so much of what was formerly hidden from us by the corporate ass-kissing media? So many devote lots of energy to researching the issues raised by this slide into fascism that we are witnessing and, as is the case for many of us, experiencing. Information is being shared freely by people who care enough to share the truth in an effort to rouse us from our apathy. So many are providing careful and honest analysis of the situation we all face. We should be coming together to prepare for a future in which mutual aid will give most of us the best chance for survival, since it's clear to any thinking person that this "society" is in dire straits and on the brink of collapse. The big question is, which way will it fall? What is happening to the country right now should have us all trembling in our boots. Is everybody on prozac? Wake the fuck up!
Cops aren't necessarily authority figures. They are more thugs with guns, and they hide behind their badges and their so called authority. If you lived in the areas of the Bay that are under occupation from various forms of police, instead of the suburbs you might realize this. I saw the overgrown boys playing GI Joe on BART the other day and asked the station agent what was up. She told me that BART pigs are the highest paid in the state, that they start on the job at something around $60,000 a year and that they get some special "hazard pay," like overtime, for dressing up early for Halloween--in their commando costumes, that unfortunately include machine guns.
And, she gave me the BART complaint number and urged me to call the PR smucks and complain. Here's the number 510-464-6000.

The vibrating object was discovered at Mackay Airport by a security officer who noticed the suspicious package inside a rubbish bin at the terminal cafeteria at 9.15am (AEST), a police spokeswoman said. Cafeteria manager Lynne Bryant said her staff had been cleaning tables when they noticed a strange humming noise coming from the rubbish bin. "It was rather disconcerting when the rubbish bin started humming furiously," she said. "We called security and next minute everybody was being evacuated while they checked it out."
The police spokeswoman said the terminal was evacuated immediately. Passengers who had arrived on a recent flight, check-in staff, cafeteria employees and hire car personnel were all forced to leave. "Another two flights were expected to land at that stage but alternate arrangements were made for the passengers to collect their luggage away from the terminal," the spokeswoman said. She said the emergency situation was revoked just before 10am when the package was identified as an adult novelty device.
Ms Bryant said at the time of the upheaval the airport had been quite busy with two main flights due in and out of the airport – wreaking havoc with people's schedules. She said in retrospect the humming sounded exactly like a vibrator – but it was better to be safe then sorry. "You can't afford to take chances," Ms Bryant said.

Sure there are some police that can be over excessive with force but not all police are that way. To generalize the BART police officers as goons marching around with assult rifles to terrorize passangers in the guise of protecting them from terrorist (or just general violence & criminal acts) and comparing them to Nazis is complete bullshit and wrong. Try researching more facts and write a real article! if you go to GOOGLE and enter: terrorist attacks on trains, you see that there have been at least 68 recent attacks(probably more) on trains. So there is a potential threat to our saftey, that is why they are roaming the trains, they're there to protect us, not terrorize us. Think about it, trains carry carry large amts of people, terrorits are known to go for highly populated targets. it makes sense to protect the potential targets. maybe there is no evidence to you as to why they are there but there are reasons. They dont have the luxury of being able to inform each and every passanger or visitor to BART what the potential threat may be. just because they dont inform you individually what the issue/possible threat is does not mean there is not a threat. BART police are paid well, they put their saftey and lives on the line everyday even for even for assholes like you. would you like it if they let all the armed robbers, rapist,drug dealers and various other violent offenders roam free? Wasn't it a couple of BART cops who shot a Black male kid in the back of the head with a shotgun, back in the mid-late '90's, because the kid didn't want to be rousted by them and kept *walking* away? (The kid had committed no crime.) The cop was indicted and convicted for murder and is now serving time on death row in San Quentin -- in your dreams!

It appears quite clear to me that the author of the article is intimidated by firearms, is intimidated by police officers and would prefer to leave the entire BART system open to crime. All of us must be put at greater risk due to the low self esteem exhibited by this one individual. I am willing to bet you have fired a weapon nor had a decent conversation with a police officer. So, in reality you are stereotyping and labeling people based on your ignorance and lack of self esteem. I was taught that fear breeds unwanted hatred towards groups of people. I guess you are a prejudicial bigot that is trying to stir the pot so you do not feel alone in the world? Maybe you should go to Idaho and join the klan?

since when does personal safety and crime deterrence required the presence of uniformed, paramilitary type police armed with automatic weapons?
as I posted on the other article about this situation, this was just a publicity stunt driven by Bush and the Department of Homeland Security to create a climate of fear in advance of the election
and, now that the election is over, has anyone seen them recently?
somehow, I doubt it, they've already served their purpose, and can be transferred to other duties, with their automatic weapons stored back at the BART SWAT team warehouse
expect them to be called out again if it looks like there will be a big protest against either the war or the election, as that will no doubt precipitate another elevated terror threat
