"Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has hijacked federal outreach funds earmarked for enbling the vote in Latin-American, Asian-American, African-American, Native-American and all the minority communities. He has frozen the state bank account, holding the funds hostage...We are demanding that these funds be released immediately!"
~Rev. Tony Pierce

Community Leaders and voters rallied at the State Building in San Francisco today to shed light on how the federal HAVA funds, (Help America Vote Act of 2002) were prevented from getting to the communities that needed it for voter outreach and education for the 2004 Election, especially in communitites of color. Thereby creating mass disenfranchisement.

Last week there was a news conference in Los Angeles at the State Capitol Building. The next press conference and rally will be held on the Capitol Steps in Sacramento on Friday, October the 29th at 11am.
