It is now 38 years later, more than 1 generation, and we can say that this country has certainly arrived at "spiritual" death, which is to say capitalism is in an advanced state of decay, long overdue for a revolution. In fact, the socialists who organized the labor movement in the 1930s thought sure there would be a worldwide socialist revoluation at the end of World War 2. However, the US war machine took over from Hitler in promoting wars of anti-communism, promoting real death everywhere for the profits of the capitalist class.

For those of us who remember MLK, 38 years ago seems like just yesterday. However, the under age 50 generations (1.5 generations) have no memory of him and thus this must seem a little strange, since we are all very much alive here, and the young are busy making their lives, going to school, preparing to take over, and the sooner they take over, the better.

It is all right to use the MLK celebrations as an occasion to promote peace, but you will have to find better quotes than "approaching" since that quote is 38 years old. The approach was made long time ago.
