A Panther In Africa Featured at CAAC Goes to the Movies
CAAC Goes To The Movies will present A Panther in Africa on Wednesday, February 16 at 7:15PM at 1640 9th Ave in Sacramento.
This 70 minute film is about Pete O'Neal, a Black Panther, who has lived in exile in Tanzania for over 30 years with his wife Charlotte. The film chronicles their work in Africa and how the legacy of the Panthers continues today. See how self-determination, collective work, and cooperative economics are incorporated into their projects. People familiar with the projects will be on hand to answer questions. The documentary was Shown on PBS in October, 2004.
The event is sponsored by the Central America Action Committee of Sacramento. The event is free, although donations are always appreciated. For more information, call 916-446-3304
