New sounds from the Orange Revolution from Kiev Ukraine.
The Ukrainians conducted an awesome and peaceful protest recently to hopefully usher in a new less-corrupt reform minded government.
Police lines were actually protected by arm-linked protestors in an effort to curb displays of violence. This and strategies like it proved highly successful in knocking out a corrupt administration.

This "Orange Revolution" was just another pro-Western, pro-"Free Market" coup, like so many others that have happened in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. They've been non-violent when they could be, but quite violent when they couldn't get their way "peacefully", as in Serbia/Yugoslavia in 2000.
(The imperialists tried to use the same methods in Venezuela recently, but they failed for a number of reasons, one of which was that the elitist class & racial character of the pro-imperialist forces there was clear to the plebian majority.)
