Keep the REAL ID Act Out of Emergency Spending Bill

Protect People Fleeing Persecution -- Keep the REAL ID Act Out
of Emergency Spending Bill

Thanks to thousands of people who took action, the U.S. Senate
last week kept the Real ID Act out of an important emergency
spending bill. By doing so, the Senate kept its promise to those
who flee rape, torture, ethnic cleansing, religious persecution
and other horrors to seek safety in the United States.

But the REAL ID Act still remains a threat to refugees. That's
because the U.S. House of Representatives voted earlier to
include the REAL ID Act in its version of the spending bill.
House and Senate leaders are working this week to reconcile
differences between the two emergency spending bills, which will
then be presented for a full vote in Congress and sent to the
President.

Your support is critical: We need you to tell House and Senate
leaders to protect refugees fleeing persecution -- that means
keeping the Real ID Act off of the emergency spending bill.

Please act now. Click below to tell House and Senate leaders
that the REAL ID Act will harm refugees fleeing torture, forced
abortions, honor killings, and other horrific violence and
remove safeguards that protect refugees from being sent back
into the arms of their persecutors.

[Please note that your message will be sent to a group of
Senators and Representatives meeting this week to reconcile the
two versions of the spending bill.]
