The popular concert and social justice festival drew 50,000 people last year and is free to the public.
A 9-11 Film Festival & Benefit will be held Sunday, September 11th from 1 pm to 11 pm. at the Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Ave., Oakland; Peter Phillips, Director of Project Censored will speak; 9-11 and the American Empire featuring David Ray Griffin will be shown, and Celsius 9-11, which highlights the International Citizens’ Inquiries into 9-11. The Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance will premiere the film version of their successful show- Behind Every Terrorist – There is a Bush. Look at the tapes and notice the vertical collapse of the WTC towers. This means that the bottom foundations of steel had simultaneously melted from less than the approx. 15 minutes of combusting jet fuel at the very top of the buildings. If the collapse was from the planes themselves, wouldn't it have caused the buildings to twist and shear from melting, not collapse vertically like a controlled demolition??

Actually, no it doesn't. The towers didn't sink into the ground; they collapsed floor-by-floor from the top. Unlike most buildings, the two towers were constructed with hard, load-bearing external frames -- that pinstripe look the buildings had was structural, not ornamental. So when the building collapsed, it -- mostly -- collapsed _within_ the shell, which isn't all that surprising, giving the vertical collapse of the sections underneath where the planes hit. On the other hand, the parts of the building above the strikes can clearly be seen to tilt and fall.

Larry Silverstein, the chief lessor, admitted in a TV interview, that Building 7 was brought down by construction explosives. All 3 buildings were brought down by constructions explosives in a few seconds, in their own footprint, broken down in sufficiently small pieces to be carted away on trucks immediately, thus illegally and deliberately removing evidence from this crime scene. The firefighters and surviving maintenance personnel have been interviewed describing bombs exploding in the building, and firefighters made it to the first floor that was hit by a plane, thus further disproving the obvious lie of a raging fire, which did not and could not exist with jet fuel. The black smoke of course means a dying fire, and there certainly was not sufficient fuel to destroy a steel frame building, built to withstand being hit by an airplane. The videos all clearly demonstrate controlled demolition. With some dogs brought to the site dying immediately, and the intense heat that was obvious at the base, it is believed there was some nuclear substance in some of those bombs that were part of the controlled demolition, perhaps depleted uranium.
The Pentagon was most likely hit by a US Air Force missile and the plane over Pennsylvania was shot down by the US Air Force.
The puddle jumping flight school in Florida was clearly a CIA setup, and certainly not able to train anyone to fly heavy fast-flying jets, and the admittedly false-named "hijackers" CIA agents, one of whom was filmed in an obvious staged setting going through Portland, Maine's airport because Boston's Logan Airport did not have cameras set up at the time. "They" are not a single group. There are many groups offering explanations of what happened that day. They include the government itself, whose own whacky conspiracy theory ranks among the wackiest. Some of these explanations are intentional disinformation whose sole purpose is to discredit the 9/11 truth movement. This is a time tested propaganda technique called "muddying the waters."

Depleted uranium isnt that much more toxic than many other substances if its really depleated. Much of the talk in terms of US bombings using it revolves around its nonradiocactive toxicity and the unwillingness for the US to clean up after dropping the stuff based off evidence of cancer rates related to areas where the stuff was dropped.

I've noticed many sicentists completely ignoring these stories due to studies on DU but aside from perhaps needing studies of long term effects of the DU the military actually uses (that may have traces of more radioactive substances) there is the way DU is used to vaporize hard targets. It could very well be that cancer rates related to DU are a result of what DU does to targets more than what the uranium does directly (the amount of consistency of the dust that it can create when it cuts through a tank could be more toxic than with other bombs relating back to exactly why DU is used (since its heavier weight makes it cut through certain targets better).
In terms of the WTC I'm sure it was very toxic and the melted computers, printers and even pieces of the building built with standard building supplies couold easilly have been more toxic than any DU contaminated site after the buildings collapsed.

All the 9/11 conspiracy theorists I've meet deserve to be condmened and hsoudl be expected to be condemned for engaging in several things:
1. Many conspiracy theorists bring up inconsistencies in things that obviously happened, with a hint that perhaps the things didnt happen. They then act outraged when you actually argue that the thing did happen saying that they never argued that the events didnt happen.
examples of this revolve around:
-the plane hitting the pentagon
-the planes hitting the WTC
-cell phones having been used on the planes
2. Making vague arguments about the building not having been able to collapse, that bombs went off in the buildings etc.. without ever responding to the real evidence that suggests the standard story. Finding one "expert" who can say that the buildings couldnt have fallen doesnt mean much if you cant actually hear the evidence argued out; if you look around enough you can find experts saying tobacco doesnt cause cancer or anything else you want.
3. An assumption that the US government is a lot smarter than it actually is. Most conspiracy theories about the US government are based on the US governments own proaganda baout how great trhe FBI and CIA is with an almost superhuman view of workers at those agencies (which dont pay well and dont exactly get the smartest workers in the country) Beliving the US governments propaganda is a problem across the board with a common right-wing view being that you cant judge something like Iraq since it must be all part of a well thought out plan and we dont know enough to judge how things are going. If you view the US as a well run almost omnipotent organization rather than a corrupt mismanaged beurocracy its easy to ask why 9/11 could have been allowed to happen since it would seem impossible for it not to have been stopped (or at least having had the 2nd and 3rd planes stopped).
4. There is also willingness to cling onto other causes without real belief. Many Jewish workers really did die in the WTC so why are the conspiracy theories still floating around. The Bin Laden familly has been at war with Ossama for years and nevre talks to him yet the flights out of the country to protect Bush's freinds are put forward as being somehow part of a conspiracy (other than one of just kissing up to the Saudis). The DU thing fits in with this problem; if you care about DU you can suggest it was at the WTC but if you dont have evidence why bring in other issues if you want peopel to take you serious.

It would be so much easier if the world was like an action movie with clear "good guys" and "bad guys". It would make the world seem more organized and make life seem more secure if some person or group was pulling strings and there was a logical reason why historical events took place. If every bad thing that takes place were the result of Satan, a punishing God, NeoCons, the CIA, Bin Laden, or some other well defined entity the world might seem scary but there is hope that it can change; If people repent, kill Bin Laden, overthrow the Capitalists or burn the witches suddenly everything will be ok.
Unfortunately history doesnt read as a novel, there wont ever be an "end of history" a "war to end all wars" or a revolution followed by 1000 years of peace. As to authority, we may as well simply look at the first, and in my opinion, the best of the list of books, Crossing the Rubicon by Michael Ruppert, which is still available in most bookstores as it is filled with some 900 footnotes and is carefully constructed. Ruppert comes from an Air Force family and was a top notch legal-trained investigator for the Los Angeles Police Department for the short time he was there, as he soon discovered the the police were the primary drug pushers, at the behest of the US government, all to help finance US wars abroad, prevent serious political organizing in the ghettos and promote the prison-concentration camp industry. He quotes socialist sources favorably, condemns both the Democratic and Republican Parties for being the twin parties of capitalism that they are, and correctly views Israel as the junior partner of US imperialism. His motive, means and opportunity analysis is fundamental for all serious political people, and is a standard yardstick for analyzing who committed a crime, which is what 9/11/01 was, a murder scene.

Since my blog was mentioned in Stephen’s recent post on Jeff Berg’s article The Tube bombings: Cui Bono? , and since I’m too impatient to wait until said article appears in Site assets, I thought I’d say a few words and get it over with.
Berg’s piece is refreshing on a number of levels.
It doesn’t dismiss the possibility that London was a false flag simply ‘cause “the guv says so”; it acknowledges the existence of these operations (some of which are very well documented, such as The Lavon Affair and Gladio); it doesn’t use the term conspiracy theorist as an epithet, ridiculing the scores of people who give credence to these theories (and with good reason); it doesn’t resort to the kind of propaganda techniques witnessed in various other critiques by certain left and right gatekeepers (eg here ), which include:
Lies of Omission or “Blackouts”
The ignorance defense (“I haven’t actually looked at the evidence”)
Pseudo-intellectual posturing
Ridicule
Peddling disinformation
Confusing the Situation
Diverting Attention
Strawman arguments
“Bracketing” (hiding a plausible theory or fact within a string of absurdities)
Guilt by association
Sophistic appeals to “institutional analysis” and other ivory tower concepts
In other words, the very same technique used by the Sean Hannity’s of the world when it comes to the war in Iraq.
Why “conspiracy theories” have become such a bugaboo on the left I’m not exactly sure. Some have suggested it has something to do with funding; Amy Goodman for instance receives cash from the Ford Foundation, at least that’s what I’m told. A few of the more hysterical types have gone so far as to say these people are “controlled” (Alex Jones has remarked that “Chomsky is a shill for the New World Order”).
Unfortunately, so long as progressives continue to ignore the elephant in the living room, or worse, attempt to convince people that the elephant simply isn’t there (even as it goes on shitting on their rug) they will continue to be subjected to these attacks—pun intended. They will be left behind.
As the gate-keepers continue to ignore, downplay and ridicule the crucial role of black ops in the intelligence world they will continue to be outmaneuvered, outfoxed and eventually outsourced by the regular men and women who have studied the evidence for themselves and who aren’t afraid of sullying their image in the eyes of “respectable” society.
That is after all the target audience of Chomsky and co., is it not? The people, not their rulers?
In many ways the Chomskys and Goodmans deserve the slander: whatever their reasons – reputation, ego, strategic aims (conspiracies are a “distraction”), large quantities of ink devoted to “blowback” theories or even honest-to-goodness ignorance, there is no excuse for attempting to marginalize skeptics and bury the truth.
And make no mistake; left denial on “conspiracies” is not merely a question of agnosticism. As Jack Straw wrote in his article “Left denial on 9/11 turns irrational”:
“Ever since the events of 9/11, the American Left and even ultra-Left have been downright fanatical in combating notions that the U.S. government was complicit in the attacks or at least had foreknowledge of the events.”
Cockburn has referred to “9/11 nuts”, Chomsky to “crazed theories about the CIA”, and Churchill, well, let’s take a look: “But, the problem with the idea that it was an inside job is that it suggests that brown people are not capable of such feats and gives all the credit to the white man, another master race fantasy”.
I won’t bother commenting on this, except to say that no man, whether Bin Laden or Larry Silverstein, could have brought down WTC7 without the use of (a) explosives or (b) an as-yet-unproven sixth sense, such as telekinesis.
Michael Albert of Znet quips “None of the above [9/11 theories] strike us as remotely interesting much less plausible.” As readers of Operation Northwoods are all too aware, Albert is only showcasing his own ignorance.

Why “conspiracy theories” have become such a bugaboo on the left I’m not exactly sure. Some have suggested it has something to do with funding; Amy Goodman for instance receives cash from the Ford Foundation, at least that’s what I’m told. A few of the more hysterical types have gone so far as to say these people are “controlled” (Alex Jones has remarked that “Chomsky is a shill for the New World Order”).
Unfortunately, so long as progressives continue to ignore the elephant in the living room, or worse, attempt to convince people that the elephant simply isn’t there (even as it goes on shitting on their rug) they will continue to be subjected to these attacks—pun intended. They will be left behind.
As the gate-keepers continue to ignore, downplay and ridicule the crucial role of black ops in the intelligence world they will continue to be outmaneuvered, outfoxed and eventually outsourced by the regular men and women who have studied the evidence for themselves and who aren’t afraid of sullying their image in the eyes of “respectable” society.
That is after all the target audience of Chomsky and co., is it not? The people, not their rulers?
In many ways the Chomskys and Goodmans deserve the slander: whatever their reasons – reputation, ego, strategic aims (conspiracies are a “distraction”), large quantities of ink devoted to “blowback” theories or even honest-to-goodness ignorance, there is no excuse for attempting to marginalize skeptics and bury the truth.
And make no mistake; left denial on “conspiracies” is not merely a question of agnosticism. As Jack Straw wrote in his article “Left denial on 9/11 turns irrational”:
“Ever since the events of 9/11, the American Left and even ultra-Left have been downright fanatical in combating notions that the U.S. government was complicit in the attacks or at least had foreknowledge of the events.”
Cockburn has referred to “9/11 nuts”, Chomsky to “crazed theories about the CIA”, and Churchill, well, let’s take a look: “But, the problem with the idea that it was an inside job is that it suggests that brown people are not capable of such feats and gives all the credit to the white man, another master race fantasy”.
I won’t bother commenting on this, except to say that no man, whether Bin Laden or Larry Silverstein, could have brought down WTC7 without the use of (a) explosives or (b) an as-yet-unproven sixth sense, such as telekinesis.
Michael Albert of Znet quips “None of the above [9/11 theories] strike us as remotely interesting much less plausible.” As readers of Operation Northwoods are all too aware, Albert is only showcasing his own ignorance.

Within hours of 9-11, the media began spinning the news that "Al Qa'eda did it, folks. That's definite! Yupper." This version built rapidly into a rigid dogma. No mainstream party, neither this government nor its painted media whores, has EVER so much as acknowledged far less investigated the possibility that some party other than or in addition to "Arab maniacs" was involved in 9-11. For two years afterward, the Bush bullshit machine abetted by the media spin factory locked down a very tight grip on public perception. On 'national security' grounds, they have never submitted their "proof" of Al Qa'eda's guilt for public review -- the only purported proof I've ever heard of. They SAID they'd produce a white paper on this, but they never have. 'National Security,' by the way, is Pentagonese for "boy, we can't let The People find out what total fucking assholes we are. We'd all get dragged out in the street and disemboweled!"
There is absolutely no reason -- NONE -- to trust these people.

Like the Warren Commission, the Watergate investigation, the investigations into the Pearl Harbor intel failure, and many others, the 9-11 Commish investigation was entirely contained within the narrow frame of the official story. They did not start over with a criminological clean slate saying "hmm, what really happened? Let's look at ALL the possibilities." They took the Bush version as gospel. The panel was stacked, by the way, with oil industry insiders. Henry "spookmaster" Kissinger would have been appointed to lead it if he hadn't recused himself! What does that tell you? Shit let's put E. Howard Hunt on the panel too. Even within this narrow frame, the 9-11 Commission narrowed its scope even further to "how did our intelligence agencies fail to uncover Al Qa'eda's plot." This is called "a charade."
Other than the piecemeal work done by independent researchers, there has NEVER been a serious and open criminological effort to investigate of 9-11.
Would covert elements of this government, or even mercenary agents in the private employ of billionaires, pull an op like this to freak us out of our minds so we'd get behind an epic new era of global expansion? Well, They lied through their teeth to get us into Iraq, didn't they? And they GOT AWAY WITH IT! Half the dumbasses in this country still don't understand that's what happened. I believe thoughtful people fall in line with the official 9-11 account not because it's logically inevitable, but because the possibility of this government's complicity is just too horrible to contemplate. If they understood the ruling order was this evil, they'd know they've pissed their lives away by investing themselves in its basic predicates. They'd know having kids was a criminally irresponsible life decision. They just aren't strong enough to so much as entertain a possibility this horrid.
The day 9-11 went down -- actually the second I heard about it -- the possibility of the Bush Reich's involvement dawned on me immediately. I went to a friend's house to watch the TV coverage, and she had already leapt to the 'foreign terrorists' assumption. When I said to her "maybe they [the Bushies] did it themselves," her face fell. She literally turned white and said in a near-whisper "don't say that. Oh God, don't say that!" At that moment, she could see it too, even though she very badly didn't want to. Very quickly though, scar tissue formed over this thought. This is a person who has an exceptionally good sense of how vile the global empire set is, but even she couldn't handle such an enormous illusion-shattering premise. Within her value system she had too much to lose by believing it, and that's most people.
And then of course you have disinformation artists like gehrig with their obvious ulterior motives.
Having said all that, I am very disappointed by 9-11 "skeptics" who buy into things like the 'controlled demolition' theory. Or worse. The webfairy, for one, is an incredible twit, quite possibly a plant to make serious investigators look like idiots. Chemtrails stinks of this sort of thing REAL bad! Like every other movement that gets any traction, 9-11 Truth has collected its share of dullards and posturing jackasses. It can not be said with certainty that the planes could not have knocked the buildings down. These buildings pushed the building technology of their time to its limits, using a unique structural system. The incident itself was without precedent. The only similar incident I've heard about was a B-25 (MUCH smaller) flying through heavy fog into the Empire State Building during WWII. This is VERY different.
I have a nuanced understanding of physics and structural engineering. Events occuring on this scale and involving such huge energies simply do not follow common sense based on mundane experience. Relative to the average shmo's understanding of relevant theory, you might as well be talking astrophysics.
About the only conclusive way to test the 'planes couldn't do that' hypothesis would be to build multiple copies of the World Trade Towers, let them age for 25 years, then fly 757s into them in exactly the same way. A mege-mega-computer model of the incident would be second best and not as good. For several reasons, the opinions of "experts" aren't as good either. For every scientist who coughs up the government's/media's preferred opinion on the matter, is there another one who dissents? Five more? Shit, we'd never know.
The most annoying thing about crap like the 'planes didn't do it' though is that YOU DON'T NEED TO GO THERE. There's lots of very solid stuff that blasts huge gaping holes through the official account. For instance the fact that several of the alleged 9-11 hijackers are STILL ALIVE!! I'd say this is a pretty damn good alibi.
