Green Party Calls Solar Legislation A Human Right

by flindet (flindet [at] sacgreens.org)
Green Party supports solar legislation, calls
'green energy' a 'human right' and backs
labor livable wage demand for workers
The Green Party is continuing its praise for legislation meant to boost alternative energy sources. The "Million Solar Roofs Initiative" would place one million solar energy systems on new and existing residential and commercial structures within ten years, and 50 percent of new home developments in California within 13 years. While business special interests and the Governor presented hesitation when labor succeeded in gaining union work for large jobs, the Green Party declared that fair wages are entirely consistent with energy independence. The Green Party labeled access to sustainable energy as a human right. For more information, read the full press release.
