Passages: A Journey Through Middle Eastern Dance

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of MECDA (Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association) is a non-profit organization that works to educate and share with the community the beautiful and unique cultures and dances of the Middle East. Last year’s annual show was completely sold out, and unfortunately over 50 people were turned away at the door. This year we have moved to a larger venue and increased the scope of our event.

The Middle Eastern Culture and Dance Association proposes to develop unity to provide educational sources for the community of Middle Eastern Dance through close communication, sponsorship of workshops, dance parties and other events that ensure continuity of these arts. In keeping with MECDA's commitment to abolishing domestic violence, and as a service to the local community, we use our community events as a collection point for the donation items, including cell phones, to our local women's shelters.
