Living in the Shadow: new album by Emcee Lynx, free for download

by emcee lynx
For fans of rebel music and conscious hip hop, Emcee Lynx is pleased to announce the release of “Living in the Shadow”, his fifth independent release in five years featuring 16 tracks of all-original material. As always, the album is available for free download from his website, http://emceelynx.circlealpha.com.
(Making the music free is a statement against the commodification of music and culture by corporations, and is the best way to make sure it is available to people all over the world who don’t have access to credit cards to buy things online.)
The songs on Living in the Shadow deal with issues ranging from Global Warming and the flooding of New Orleans to direct action forest-defense campaigns and social justice to the absurdity of mainstream black-face rap music to songs about life, love, and family. The instrumentals range from funk to trip hop to downtempo and hip hop, and include production work by artists in three countries. Think of it as the most danceable blog you’ve listened to this year.

Emcee Lynx has been featured on compilations and mixtapes all over the world. His last album, The UnAmerican LP, was reprinted in Indonesia as a benefit for political prisoners and in Germany as a benefit for a local radical bookstore. Previous albums have been reprinted as fundraisers for anarchist groups from the US to the Czech Republic. He has also performed at anti-war rallies all over the US, at Reclaim the Streets protests and street parties, and at political events and parties of all kinds.

Mp3’s of the new album can be downloaded from http://emceelynx.circlealpha.com/mp3.htm, along with mp3’s from his two most recent previous releases: The UnAmerican LP (2004) and The Black Dog EP (2003)
