Grownupism!
1 Day, When I Grow Up!

As usual, I wuz sittin’ an’ stinkin’ ‘bout the holi-dayz an’ my escape from the dragon-teecher for a few happy weeks.
But one thing I alwayz notice, she alwayz leaves her mark on me an’ my pardnurs – we never get away without homework! Never, Ever!
I meen, it’s like she alwayz wants us to remember her an’ the way she makes us remember her is to smother us with love thru loads of homework!!
She never lets us go totally free, but alwayz with her mark on us…
It’s funny, but she alwayz sez this work is good for our education an’ we’ll thank her for all her effort wen we’re older!
Man, I don’t think I can live long enuf to “thank her” for all the misery she puts us thru, with her educatin’!
So, we gotta write ‘bout Ol’ Stetson Hat an’ his recent travels ‘round the wurld!
Like alwayz, wen in doubt an’ in need of sum answers, without too much work on my part, I’m off to grandma an’ papa!
The key sumtimes is “timing”, like mama alwayz sez.
My mama is super smart an’ plus she’s pretty too!
Papa an’ grandma alwayz tell my sister an’ I how lucky we are to have a mama like ours!
Well, I’m sure they’re right, but a lotta times, she jes seems like she’s doin’ an’ bein’ wut mamas are ‘sposed to do an’ be!
Like alwayz, papa an’ grandma say, “We’ll find out later when we’re grownups.”
Man, I gotta buncha stuff to find out wen I’m a grownup.
So, a good time to git my homework done with “timing” is after a great mama dinner.
Works ev’rytime!
So, I pop the questions!!
Papa an’ grandma look at me with that, I-we know you’re doin’ your homework right now, but ok, we love you an’ we’ll alwayz help you.
Lucky me!
Papa sez, “Sometimes the president travels to places with themes the people are not particularly interested in or are not priorities for them. But he doesn’t seem to care or know about their concerns and as a result he often leaves with little or nothing to show for his efforts and then has to get his press people to create something out of nothing for the voters!”
Grandma sez, “And everyone sees through his smoke screen.
It’s a good thing they have Condoleezza Rice to cover their mess, with her very creative explanations and she’s good at it too. She is a better press secretary than the fellow who is supposed to do the job of covering Ol’ Stetson Hat’s mistakes.”
Papa sez, “The ‘explanation’ is many times more important than the truth and the important thing is to know how to cover your tracks, especially when you have steel in your stomach as well as in your head and you’re Ol’ Stetson Hat!”
Wow, so if I git it rite, Ol’ Stetson Hat’s not doin’ so well an’ he’s got ev’rybody puttin’ as much icin’ on his spoiled cake as fast an’ deep as they can, while the inside is goin’ bad faster than they can icin’ the top?
He’s still talkin’ ‘bout victory, a.k.a. mission accomplished, but the dragon-teecher sez, “He’s a man talking to himself in the mirror and that won’t work!”
So I know wut to write, with papa an’ grandma helpin’ an‘ the dragon’s opinion ringin’ in my ears!
Ya know, I think bein’ president isn’t so easy, but it helps a lot, if like the dragon sez, “You have a good education, good heart, good people working with you and you know what you’re doing!”
I guess Ol’ Stetson Hat has a few things to work on!
I’m gittin’ sleepy from all this sittin’ an’ stinkin’.
So I’m gonna say

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!

Wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n üba die Ferjen und meine Flucht vor der Drachenlehrerin für ein paar glückliche Wochen.
Aber eine Sache stell ich imma fest, sie hinterlässt imma ihre Spuren bei mir und mein' Kumpels – wir komm' nie ohne Hausaufgaben davon! Nie, niemals!
Ich mein, es is', als ob sie imma will, dass wir an sie denk'n, und die Art, wie sie das macht, dass wir uns an sie erinnern, is', dass sie uns mit Liebe umschmeichelt durch Massen von Hausaufgaben!!
Sie lässt uns nie absolut frei geh'n, sondern es bleibt imma was von ihr bei uns häng'n...
Es is' lustig, aber sie sagt imma, diese Arbeit is' gut für uns're Ausbildung und wir werd'n ihr für all ihre Mühe dankbar sein, wenn wir älter sind!
Mann, ich glaub nich', dass ich lang genug leb'n kann, um ihr "zu dank'n" für die ganze Miesere, durch die sie uns treibt, mit ihrer Ausbildung!
Also, wir soll'n üba olle Texashut schreib'n und seine kürzlichen Reisen in die Welt!
Wie imma, wenn Zweifel komm' und Hilfe für 'n paar Antworten nötig is’, ohne zu viel Arbeit auf meiner Seite, ab zu Oma und Papa!
Der Schlüssel is' manchma' das richtige "timing", wie Mama imma sagt.
Meine Mama is' superschlau und hübsch is' sie auch!
Papa und Oma sag'n imma zu meiner Schwester und mir, wie glücklich wir sind, eine Mama wie uns're zu hab'n!
Nun, ich bin sicher, sie hab'n recht, aber ganz oft scheint sie nur das zu tun und zu sein, was Mamas tun und sein sollten?
Wie imma sag'n Papa und Oma: "Das werdet ihr feststellen, wenn ihr erwachsen seid."
Mann, ich hab 'ne Menge Zeugs rauszufind'n, wenn ich erwachsen bin.
Also, 'ne gute Zeit, meine Hausaufgaben fertig zu bekomm' mit "Timing", is' nach 'nem richtig guten Abendessen von Mama.
Klappt jedes Mal!
Also lass ich die Fragen los!
Papa und Oma kuck'n mich an mit diesem ich-wir wiss'n, dass du gerade jetz' deine Hausaufgaben machst, aber OK, wir lieb'n dich und wir helfen dir imma.
Ich Glücklicher!
Papa sagt: "Manchmal reist der Präsident an Orte mit Themen, an denen die Menschen nicht besonders interessiert sind oder die für sie nicht an erster Stelle stehen. Aber es scheint ihn nicht zu kümmern oder er weiß nichts von ihren Problemen und das Ergebnis ist, dass er oft mit wenig oder nichts geht, was er aus seinen Bemühungen vorweisen könnte, und dann muss er seine Presseleute dazu bringen, etwas für seine Wähler zu kreieren, aus dem Nichts!"
Oma sagt: "Und alle blicken durch seine Nebelwand durch.
Es ist eine gute Sache, dass sie Condoleezza Rice haben, um ihren Unsinn gerade zu biegen mit ihren sehr kreativen Erklärungen, und sie ist außerdem gut darin. Sie ist eine bessere Pressesprecherin als der Mitarbeiter, der eigentlich den Job machen sollte, olle Texashuts Fehler zu verdecken."
Papa sagt: "Die `Erklärung´ ist oft wichtiger als die Wahrheit und es ist eine wichtige Sache zu wissen, wie du deine Spuren verwischst, besonders wenn dein Bauch aus Stahl ist, genauso wie dein Kopf, und du bist olle Texashut!"
Wow, also wenn ich das richtig vasteh, macht sich olle Texashut nich' so gut und er lässt jeden so viel Zuckerguss auf seinen vagammelten Kuchen packen so schnell und so dick, wie sie könn', während das Innere schneller schlecht wird, als sie Zuckerguss obendrauf tun könn'.
Er spricht imma noch üba Sieg, auch bekannt als Mission erfüllt, aber die Drachenlehrerin sagt: "Er ist ein Mann, der mit sich selbst im Spiegel spricht, und das wird nicht funktionieren!"
Also, weiß ich, was ich schreib mit Papas und Omas Hilfe und der Meinung der Drachenlehrerin, die in meinen Ohren klingelt!
Wisst ihr, ich glaub, Präsident zu sein, is' nich' einfach, aber es hilft 'ne Menge, wenn, wie der Drachen sagt, "du eine gute Ausbildung hast, ein gutes Herz, gute Leute, die mit dir arbeiten, und du weißt, was du tust!"
Ich glaub, olle Texashut hat 'n paar Dinge, an denen er arbeit'n muss.
Ich werd müde von all dem Sitz'n und Stink'n.
Also sag ich
'Nacht,
hab euch lieb,
'Nacht!
