Southeast Community Facility at 1800 Oakdale in the Bayview need major changes.

by Francisco Da Costa (frandacosta [at] att.net)
In the late 1970s when the Phelps Raw Sewage Plant was expanded - the Bayview Community demanded mitigation. The community were promised Open Space but chose a Community Facility to serve the needs of the community at large in the Bayview. Today, City College has taken over and the Community Facility - shcved aside the community and substituted by corruption. This must change and the youth in the community served first and the rest of the Mickey Mouse operations eliminated.
In the Bayview Hunters Point we have many that talk the talk but very few that walk the walk.

If any investigative reporting is done not one entity will dwell on speaking to our youth. This includes the Media local as well as National. No newspaper has written one single line with the youth in mind and linked to the Southeast Community Facility situated at 1800 Oakdale in the Bayview.

Everyone including the numerous Church Leaders talk down to the youth. The youth have not been givn one single opportunity to express themselves. We have over 100 Churches in the Bayview Hunters Point.

Now we have some Black Leaders that have forgotten what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for.
They have turned their backs and done great injustice to the poor community of color and more to the youth when it comes to sacrifice and love. Right now they are about greed and money.

San Francisco City College can take its activites else where - unless they investigate what concrete service they are offering the Bayview Hunters Point community.

How exactly is any revenue being accumulated for the good of the community? Who is serving our youth and giving them long term jobs?

Right now rampant crime and very poor grades are a norm. Biotech jobs are offered but these poor paying jobs have very few slots. No one knows how many trained youth remain employed stay for 2 to 3 years in their jobs?

The Facility Director considers the Community Facility his fiefdom and acts like one.

All this must change. For too long have some used the Facility to continue corruption and adversely impact thousands mostly people of color in the Bayview Hunters Point.

This facility MUST serve the community and look after the needs of the community:
