A 70+ acre oldgrowth logging plan is currently being cut. Located in the Little Salmon Creek drainage, this area is about 3.5 miles from Headwaters Grove. Logging contractors hired by Maxxam-owned Pacific Lumber are busy felling ancient trees in this small watershed just southeast of College of the Redwoods. There are at least five Osprey nests scattered around the area, two of them are right at the edge of clearcut boundaries. Small portions of Marbled Murrelet habitat will also be clearcut.
