2/2 and 2/4: Berkeley Honda Rallies with Special Guests

What's New: We're getting up a head of steam with regard to sponsorship. Many organizations and union locals are coming forward to sponsor rallies. It's through this kind of solidarity, coupled with the unwavering support of the community, that we will win.

With regard to picketing, we had great success at the sales end of the shop this past weekend by showing customers an El Cerrito Honda ad that offered new cars at the employee-discounted price. We noticed that when they took the xeroxed ad, it didn't stop customers from going in, but neither were they buying at Berkeley Honda. Apparently, they wanted to check out El Cerrito before committing to a sale -- which is where many of them may have stayed to buy, judging from what we could see.

Labor negotiations are continuing, although there is no breaking news. However, the fact that Stephen Beinke (the owner's father, who set him up in the dealership) continues to be involved is a good sign.
