Pushed to the Altar: Marriage, Poverty, & Politics is a forum questioning the Bush administration's marriage promotion policies that are being touted by as the way to help women transition off welfare and as a quick-fix to end poverty for poor women and their children. Panelists include Attorney Lena Ayoub from the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Jeanine Hays from Family Violence Prevention Fund and activist Renita Pitts from the Welfare Radio Collaborative.
