No WAR On Iraq!
No WAR On Iran!

NOT for War & Occupation!
President Bush will be appearing with Governor Schwarzenegger at Cisco Systems, Building 9, 260 Tasman Drive, in San Jose, at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21. A "free speech zone" will be set up for us on the north side of Tasman Road, not far from that location. The west edge of the zone is about half way between Morgridge and the Light Rail stop at Cisco Way, which will be closed (though the trains will continue to run). The east edge is provisionally the Cisco Way Light Rail stop but can be adjusted eastward if the turnout warrants it.
There is a Park & Ride lot at the I880/Milpitis Light Rail station (at Alder and Tasman Road), one stop down from the Cisco Way station (toward Alum Rock about 3/4 of a mile). The only access to this parking lot will be from the east. In other words, people will need to drive down the north side (westbound lanes) of Tasman to that lot. (Everything will be blocked from the other direction.)
People can also come via public transportation. From the Fremont BART, people can take the #180 bus to the Great Mall, where they can catch the Light Rail toward San Jose and go one stop to I880/Milpitis and walk west to the rally. (Note again that you won't be able to get off the Light Rail at the Cisco Way station going either direction.)
Coming from Mountain View, people can take the Light Rail and change at First and Tasman for the Alum Rock bound train, and then take that to I880/Milpitis station and walk west to the "free speech zone." Coming from south San Jose, people should take an Alum Rock bound train to I880/Milpitis and walk west to the rally.
For people driving down from SF, take 101 to 237 and 237 east to McCarthy Road south, and west on Tasman to the Park & Ride lot mentioned above. From the East Bay, come down 880 to Tasman Road and take Tasman west to the Park & Ride lot.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no porta-potties or other toilet facilities available for protesters in the area of the "free speech zone."

* Louise Auerhahn will show slides from her six months in Venezuela, examining poverty there and how Venezuela’s poor and working classes are rising up.
* Dan Mayfield, recently returned from a National Lawyers Guild trip to Venezuela, will talk about Venezuela’s new constitution — the first ever to be ratified by popular vote — and how Venezuelans are developing a political system that is on the side of the people.
On April 12th, 2002, the world awoke to the news that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had been removed from office and had been replaced by a new interim government. What had in fact taken place was the first Latin American coup of the 21st century, and the world's first media coup...

Winner of over 20 international awards, this fascinating documentary records the coup attempt against Hugo Chavez, in 2002, supported by the upper 20% of the economic class in Venezuela and by the Bush administration. The coup attempt failed two days later as the nation's working class took to the streets and military officers loyal to Chavez restored the people's elected government. 74 min, 2003
