COMO ANGELES:
The Story of the Free Medical School in Havana, Cuba

With Cedric Edwards MD, the first American graduate of the program.

The Latin American Medical School, located in Havana, Cuba opened its doors to the world
offering free medical training to those who could not afford it in their home countries.

Five years ago, Cedric Edwards took advantage of this amazing offer, and against the advice
of family and friends, moved to Cuba to become a doctor. Last August he graduated in a
ceremony attended by several heads of State, including Hugo Chavez, and a crowd of more than
ten thousand people.

Dr. Edwards is the first American to graduate from this widely recognized program. He has
passed Level II Medical Exams here in the United States and is in the process of applying for
residency. Recently, he participated in an experimental program in Honduras working
alongside Honduran doctors trained in Cuba.

Come hear about the differences in medical training and practice in between the US and Cuba.
See footage of recent graduates working in several countries. Learn about the impact of free
medical training for the poor of the world.
