To all who support the need to hear real debate in the one (only one)
televised two-party debate for governor:

Send an e-mail to the President of the California Broadcasters Association,
the organization hosting the one and only televised gubernatorial debates
on Oct. 7th. Mr. Stan Stratham, President, will be moderating the
event. He can be e-mailed at:

The debates were created to inform the electorate about all their choices
on Nov. 7th; this is not just a two-party "party". Please write to him
about your own reasons for opening up the debates (please be
courteous). Perhaps if enough voters write to him, they will reconsider.

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY!

======================================================================

Dear Mr. Stratham:

The media is reporting that the California Broadcasters Association will be
hosting the one and only televised debate between Schwarzenegger and
Angelides. What is your criteria for not including all the ballot-approved
candidates?

With approximately 18% of the population registered as "Decline to State"
and another 5% registered with other parties that leaves a large portion of
the population without representation.

The 2003 televised debates were lively and educational (with much higher
viewership) because they featured more views and common sense solutions to
the issues affecting Californians. These debates create a strong,
democratic discourse that is is critical to our future. Many voters have
given up; you and CBA have an opportunity to make a difference.

Open up the debates to all qualified candidates. I will await your
response. Thank you!
