Please Don't Forget About Us on Election Day
In response to the well-funded, glossy-flyered No on G campaign, workers in Santa Cruz are creating awareness in whatever way they can. This includes the homemade flyers recently posted around town.
Oh G, I don't make much money
Oh G, I wish I could make a little more
Oh G, It sure would be nice if I didn't have to work 2 full-time jobs just to pay rent
Oh G, I really wish I could spend more time with my kids
Oh G, My family doesn't own a business
Bottom Note:
I found this note by the post office and decided to make copies of it because it really shows how I and so many other low income workers feel about Measure G. But we are all too scared to tell people what a difference a little raise would make in our lives, because we could get fired if we speak up. I hope this note helps our voice get heard. Please don't forget about us on voting day. Please, please, please, for the sake of so many people struggling to survive in this community, vote "yes" on Measure G. Thank you so much.

Santa Cruz sucks, I want to leave this mean ugly town, or burn it down.
When my dad came back from killing nazis in WWII, he had to commute by bus up to Cloverdale to run a gas station, and come home to Seabright only on the weekends. There's never been an over abundance of sustainable work here. My grandpa sold/delivered Pillsbury products to stores around Monterey Bay area, did carpentry on the side, while grandma had a little restaurant next to the downtown post office. My dad finally settled by working for the phone company. We didn't have much, however fortunately got to live in this beautiful place. Now that potentially millions feel they just have to move/live here, the price of everything is beyond ridiculous. If you didn't invest in property here by the 70's or early 80's you're pretty much screwed. I feel sorry for friends I grew up with that had to leave, and will never be able to afford the luxury of living here ever again.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
