In Ancient Egypt, summer solstice was the most important day of the year.
The sun was at its highest and the Nile River was beginning to rise.

Inundation of the Nile Special ceremonies were held to honor the neter Aset (Isis).
Egyptians believed that Aset was mourning for her dead husband, Asar, and that her tears made the Nile rise and well over.

This is a time of purifying, of cutting through obstacles and drawing on the dynamic power of the God principle to manifest your own power. Lift up your hearts in celebration of the fertility and wonder of life and remember to give thanks for that which has been manifested for you.

Summer Solstice, sometimes known as Midsummer, occurs in the middle of June.
It is a celebration of the longest day of the year and the beginning of Summer.

It has been a grand tribal gathering time since ancient times.
Colors are Green, Blue, Yellow, and White, representing the four cardinal points.

It is a festival of community sharing and planetary service.

Special ceremonies were held to honor the Aset. The people of KMT believed that Aset was mourning for Asar, and that her tears made the Nile rise and well over. Accurately predicting the floods was of such vital importance that the appearance of the star Sirius, which occurs around the time of the summer solstice, was recognized as the beginning of the Egyptian New Year.

In ancient Egyptian mythology, the solar deity Heru defeated his uncle, Set, the neter associated with chaos and choices at this time of the year. This is linked with rebirth and resurrection. With this victory, divine order and fertility were restored in Kmt and it was thought that this event allowed the Nile floods to come, bringing life back to the Nile valley.

It was the hope of every Pharaoh of Kmt that upon his death he would travel safely through the Duat, the Egyptian afterworld, and "come into the light of day" in the kingdom of Ra, and join with that great god in his solar boat to become one of the imperishable stars.

On the Summer Solstice, which occurs on June 21, the Sun is at its highest... representing the stregnth of the force an power that placed the sun in the sky.
